We were so happy to hear from the Mayor's office that TEEI had been saved. Many community members and allies came out in support of TEEI. We are incredibly grateful for everyone's hard work in making sure that this critical program could continue to help alleviate chronic unemployment among transgender people.
~Masen Davis, Executive Director of the Transgender Law Center

We at Pam's House Blend previously crossposted an action alert from the Transgender Law Center about the defunding of San Francisco's Transgender Economic Empowerment Initiative  (TEEI). In the late afternoon of June 16th, 2010, TEEI funding was put back in the budget. 🔗 [Link: pamshouseblend.com/diary/16450/transgender-economic-empowerment-initiative--%3E-bleeped-%3C--in-san--%3E-bleeped-%3C--in-san-francisco-budget%5B/url/]
