WHARTON, TX (KTRK) -- New developments today in the dispute over death benefits for a fallen Wharton firefighter's family. Despite a legal dispute, his children will soon receive benefits.

Legal hurdles have been cleared that will allow Thomas Araguz's children to receive hundreds of thousands of dollars. Thomas Araguz died over the Fourth of July weekend battling a fire at an egg farm. His mother, Simona Longoria, has been named administrator of the estate.

So, the late man's mother gets his kids money and she gets $60k

Did someone say, 30 pieces of silver?

Well, actually the kids get the money but since they are too young the mom is the administrator.  I hope that she does what is intended and makes sure to use it for the kids well being instead of her own greed (which will most likely happen, knowing human nature).
