it was the meet the boss night on Thursday and I went along as in previous years and had a nice time meeting and socialising the people who work different times and departments to me. I shared a table with five other women and we had a nice time chatting and eating and drinking..
At leaving I hung back to have a word with my department manager then followed all the others out.
I closed behind the group I'd sat with in time to hear one say 'She said her name was Lilac but she had a deep voice?'.
The reason for the deepness was having to speak above the general noise. But as I'd had a nice chat with one of them who had turned out to be well versed in sexchange matters I didn't get annoyed at the deep voice comment as the 'She said' bit balanced out and just said a good night to them and went my way while they got in their taxi.
On the whole it was a nice night.
