Glancing at Parinya ``Nong Toom'' Charoenphol tightening her ponytail in front of the mirror, it is hard to believe that such a slender lady was once a regal Thai boxer with a formidable record of 20 wins and 18 TKOs.

From a gay teen boxer who fought for his family to a beautiful transgendered fighter who followed her dream, and whose life was captured in a mesmerising biographical film, Beautiful Boxer, in 2004, Parinya's story is unique.

But what is going on with her now after all the fame?

``I may have given up Thai boxing, but I'm still a fighter,'' said 29-year-old Parinya at her friend's boxing camp on Sukhumvit Road.
