A TRANSSEXUAL accused of leaving her dog to die of heat exhaustion in a car says she is being discriminated against because of her sexuality.

Annabell Quor, 74, yesterday pleaded not guilty in the district court to a charge of reckless ill-treatment of an animal after her 10-year-old pomeranian, Midgy, died at The Palms shopping centre rooftop car park just before Christmas.

The SPCA has brought the charge.

Ms Quor said she had short-term memory loss caused by two strokes.

She said she forgot to take Midgy's muzzle off when she and a friend went to the bank and temperatures reached 33.4 deg C. They were away for about 75 minutes.

I don't have any sympathy for this woman at all.

Poor thing, it was the woman's fault for leaving her dog in the car. She has no one to blame.
