Mitch Albom's May 29 column ("We have good news! It's a brand-new baby -- something?") contained a reasonable point buried in a narrow-minded rant.

The reasonable point was that all parents -- including the Canadian couple who want to avoid "gendering" their child -- impose decisions on their children. But Albom was unable to make that point without exposing his ignorance of, and disgust with, transgender and other gender-nonconforming people.
