I generally like the "show new replies to your posts" link but ...no offense....if I see the "Caption the avatar above you" one more time, Im gonna scream, pull my hair out and then hack into a stoplight computer terminal.

I made the mistake of posting in there and now I am seeing the thread alllll the time :(

And it's not different people posting...its like the same 3 or 4 people posting every 13 minutes for the last 30 days lol.

Is there a way I can "ignore" this somehow, or am I forced to live with it because I posted in their before?

First Method

Click on your profile button (Where you can change your account settings)
Click on Modify Profile and go down and select ignore Board options
Then select what you want, then save

Second Method

Click on your profile button (Where you can change your account settings)
Click on Modify Profile and go down and select notifications
Then select what you want then save.

You could use a combination of both methods.  I believe in 'Notifications' you can select which current thread you are being notified on to delete it while still receiving notifications for the ones that you want to be notified on.

I hope this helps you.

Warm regards

Ignoring a "Board" would cause it to ignore all threads within that board, not just the offending thread.  Unless that is the only thread included in that Board.

yeah that's what im afraid of.

So if I delete my post in that thread, it will disappear from my list?

Don't respond to it... When it shows on your email, delete the email

She means, is there a way to stop a thread from showing up under the link "Show new replies to your posts?" I find that I do not want to be notified of 80% of the replies that occur anyway. It seems that those methods described above only stop you from being notified via e-mail or PM.

There is an unnotify button right next to the .... Wait for it... Reply button  Surprise!!!

That doesn't work with my dilemma. Trust me, I tried it.

I am taking the other ideas about deleting my post from that thread. :)

I've wondered this as well, there are select boxes down the right hand side but no option to click "unsubscribe". That would be such an awesome improvement to the site!!!! Would also really help to remove the temptation of going back into threads that just irk you and make you post facepalm pics etc. lols.

Why not post to Admin or Mods and ask them

reply #4 was by a mod so I think they know, just need to pass it on to someone who could make the change if they deem it worthy! WHICH IT IS!! xP

Most of the mods are newbies try Admin

Mmm
I meant and thought it as honest advice. The Admin staff are a lot more experienced than most of the Mods. They, at least senior Admin,  also have access to the program people who do the background stuff.
Didn't mean it any more than that.

They are in ToS as the people to contact if there is a problem.

Sometimes I have wanted to completely ignore a thread but I am glad that we can't exercise that degree of control here at Susan's.     Most people like to live within their own little safe and cosy comfort zone, where little that is disagreeable ever enters.   I feel that you can learn a lot about yourself by noticing what things and what types of people annoy you.   For example people who are big on surgery and who post saying ' I just had a BA and now I am going for FFS just after that I am going to get my Orchiectomy a few months before my SRS.   I am taking pills A, B, and C, do you think that I should also take pills D and E?   Well I've got to run because I am off to see my psychiatrist, my gender therapist, and my endocrinologist.   Phew I almost forgot!   I am thinking of getting gynaecologist(just in case tee-hee) can anyone recommend one in the ...area?'          I learned a lot about myself from reading those sorts of posts, had I magical 'ignore thread' button I wouldn't have deepened my knowledge of the gender community or gained a greater understanding of myself.

Where on earth is this link...?  I've searched everywhere and can't find anything remotely like it.
