Only way to lose fat. Less energy in, more energy out. Boobs will develop with what they need. Eating a hamburger will do nothing for boob size.
Sadly

Don't increase your calorie intake in order to gain boobs. The hormones redistribute what you have, going for increased fat or size will not help you at all. you will just be fat.

Sorry

Cindy
That is so true. I have been on hormones for 2 years.Over the last 15 months i have lost over 100 lbs. My breasts have developed rather nicely.

Well I don't think it has as much to do with weight as it might be size. You can be 113lbs and very short, and still have fat that can be moved around....but if you just have a very slender frame it could be. I started at around 150lbs and lost weight on hormones to about 135lb. I just never got the results the myth says about one size smaller breasts then your parent, or the hips I desired. If I had more weight to through around, it might of impacted the hips more....boobs, I'm not sure of

What size was your Mum or sisters? Rule of boob seems to be one size less for us girls on the 'mones.

I've been doing a lot of walking and have noticed the "male" fat has started to disappear from my upper abdomen and "love handles", but my hips, bum, and thighs have all filled out very slightly.
Breast growth has been modest but steady, with the left larger, although  the right has just started to catch up. I will give it another month and see if my weight has changed at all.

Am I the only one whom hormones is a total failure?

Nope, the only part of HRT I can tolerate is the spiro. I have horrible side effects from the various types of E I have tried. Honestly, if taking all that E isn't helping, maybe just stick with some spiro/t blocker and not have the health risks of E if it's doing nothing for ya. I'm actually getting some development from just the spiro but not expecting miracles.

the information exists, but you won't find a lot of guidance or assistance on this board (or most others) for self-medicating even when you have access to labs for bloodwork...

So let me get this right, gaining weight wont help boobage or waist? Will it fill out my stick legs/arms atleast?
I'm 5'8.5 and a little bit below 130lbs.

I'm really underweight, I don't think I have fat to redistribute.

I'm still wondering about it myself.  At 5'11" and 120 pounds, I was pretty underweight when I started hormones, but not as bad as I was two years ago when I was only 100 pounds.  Now I'm at 140 and a lot of the weight went straight into a stupid male pattern around my belly.  Arms and legs are still sticks.  Maybe it has to do with how fast I gained the weight (which was deliberate, eating about 5000 calories a day for four months) or maybe the fact that I haven't been on HRT long enough for the true magic to start.  Who knows.

My doctor DID tell me a few weeks ago that I have a good deal more fat tissue in my breasts than she would have expected given how thin I still am, so maybe it worked? ;)  It mostly wound up below the nipple too, so breasts are forming a round and not pointy shape.  And I also sometimes forget that my belly juts out far more than most people's because of serious spinal curvature in that region, so perhaps I don't have as much belly fat as I suspect.

I could probably stand to gain another 10 pounds given my height, but that stupid anorexic part of my brain is already screaming at me for gaining back 1/3 of my body weight in the last two years.  So I'll stop gaining here, see what the fat does, and consider gaining more in the future if I need to.

It really isn't so much of a true redistribution but rather a placement of 'new' fat.

A lack of caloric intake potentially helps with the waist, although the hips won't be helped without at least enough calories to maintain the body AND leave some to spread around.  As far as boobage goes, that is a YMMV thing, with that being the area of the body that seems to increase or decrease quicker than any other part of the body where weight is a factor...

As far as legs and arms, I would HIGHLY suggest some toning exercises...one can do resistance work without 'bulking up.'

And as a caveat....be wary of what one wishes for when it comes to weight/fat distribution.  I was a stick until around the age of 35 (basically between 119-125lbs despite being 5'11").  The weight slowly crept up over the next several years and I have had some people who know JUST how much I put on who still maintain I looked better now than I did at the lower weights.  I've dropped about 15lbs over the past three months, mostly through exercise and some minor diet changes, but I found that it took a lot of definition from my legs and butt that had existed previously.  Fortunately, I have NOT lost the weight from the boobage...something I attribute to the recent growth I saw MANY years post-op when we added the progesterone back into the mix.
