Why hormones doesn't seem to work at all for some?

I embarked in that journey when I saw others having big boobs, great hips etc...but as for me my boobs stayed flat after 2 years, just a slight hump and nipples more pointy and and no hips at all.

I even suggested my endo to prescribe me the most potent form of hormones and I tried Premarin & Ethinylestradiol for 3 months each but no avail. Finally I got back taking my injectable Estradiol Valerate which seems to be the safest and less mess mentally & emotionally. In fact when I realize, I don't even know why I keep on taking it despite I know it brings nothing to me.

The only positive change is my hair started growing finer and more feminine texture, skin smoother, mentally more confident, less dysphoria, less body hair, light facial feminization but besides that I don't see any changement. Even the mental effects I don't even know whether it's the hormones itself or just me psychologically thinking I am more woman when I take it.

Am I the only one whom hormones is a total failure?

Dosage is as critical to the individual result as the medication itself...some bodies simply need more than the usual dosages prescribed to transsexual patients.  Similarly, some patients do not do well on some meds...that was how I wound up on Estinyl all those years ago even as people were describing it as some evil incarnate...but that was the only medication that worked for me in terms of any substantial development.

Sad Girl,
* Am I the only one whom hormones is a total failure? *

NO YOU ARE OF COURSE NOT! Cheer up, no reason for sadness.

I recall reading in some survey ~ 80% of transwomen will sooner or later go for breast augmentation (BA).

Also it is indicated to wait minimum 1 year on HRT better, at least 2 years.

The 2 t-girls I know personally, the one young, age 23 went for BA after 3.5 years HRT and after BA is a 36C, the other past age 50 is flat, an A cup at best, size 34 I guess.
That is VERY little. She had orchie years ago and was MANY years on Ethynylestradiol (EE, BC pills).

Myself at 15 month HRT, am about an A cup, size 38. Normal bra-sizes for size 38 mostly start with a B cup and going up to E!
Not that I would want any such a load hang of my chest. Just to mention it though.

Estradiol pills didn't work at all for me.. only to a small extent. Used them for the first few months of my transition and then switched to progynon depot(injectable form of estradiol valerate), something that I suggested to my practitioner. The results since then, have been AMAZING!!!

Hope helps!!!

Is  Progynon Depot the same as Estradiol Valerate? Where are you from? UK or US?

Would you be willing to elaborate on your experience here?

I would not call your results a failure, I would just say that they did not live up to your own expectations. I feel a little the same in regards to my results. I started HRT on my own at 16, and I had read so much information that if you start young, you should attain your best breast growth that could be up to one cup size lower then your parent (mother).....if this was the case I'd have a full B and would not be getting breast augmentation in November. I got ok results, but after over 10 years and starting as young as I did, I expected a lot more. The look of my hips also improved, but I never got the really feminine hips I always wanted to have. The results I got are in the female range, but as you did, I hoped for so much more.

Jenna Nicole what about your voice, your body and your face? How would you describe the changes?

I guess it helped with my voice. I still took the time to get it right before I started living full time by calling into internet talk radio shows to work on it. But I believe the hormones did help with that, as my voice sounds naturally feminine, when before I transitioned it did not. As for other changes, I had some body fat re-distribution towards the hips and back end....a little.....it was improved. I also got a little more shape to my face, and overall my skin got a bit softer. Most of all the changes I got came in the first 12-16 months on the medication. The one and most important thing I forgot to mention in regards to how the hormones helped me, was that starting as early as I did prevented me from having to get electrolysis on my face, as I caught things just before it started to come in. So while I did not get all the results I hoped, they did help make my transition easier for me.

i think it all depends on you i suggest change your endo that might help. because i am 2 months with hrt and have had amazing hip widening so much i can't actually walk like i used to and well have half a A cup and i am on finpecia spiro and estrogen pills tho once i am bumped to max estrogen i will do the cheaper safer injections. the moral a good endo could do wonders to:)

LOL

At some point I have to dig out a picture of me when I was a Celtics ball boy at 15....that was just before I started to realize things and head towards the hormone route 6 months later. That before to now is a good transformation :D

Were you on Spiro or some other kind of blocker as well?  Like most said, Dosages count alot and injections tend to have greater changes to show for itself than Estradiol.

this may sound a bit stupid but im sorry im new to all of this too and i want the same and well... jsut trying to throw some ideas ok

it crossed my mind while i was starting, i was on diet before i started hormones. i was losing weight basically. then at some point i realized how am i gonna gain boobs and hips when tehyre made of fat and im not gaining any. since then i started eating ehm... a lot. im still ok my body seems to burn em decently. im just on my 3rd month with the spiro and 4 with the estro and no progesterone. i have a small lump now. its soooo tiny taht some people make fun of it coz its just like some hump. but hey if its gonna grow consistently then i guess this is working.

now im just trying to figure how to prevent the fat gain from going to my belly.

may we all have the boobs that we just soooo want!

Don't increase your calorie intake in order to gain boobs. The hormones redistribute what you have, going for increased fat or size will not help you at all. you will just be fat.

Sorry

Really small chance for that : - ( Most of transsexual women end up having no boobs, or very small ones... Your tummy fat won't disappear until you work on it.
