Hey guys, I am A MTF and I started taking Estradiol about 2 1/2 months ago and started Spiro. about 4 weeks ago (1 month). The one definite thing I have noticed is my sex drive is basically gone and it's quite difficult to get an erection.

I am 24 years old btw and will be 25 this coming April and I am pretty healthy. I was wondering, when should/will I start to see outer changes. I haven't really noticed much yet and I know it takes time and it's a process. I def, wish everything happened overnight and didn't take 2-4 years tosee complete changes, but that's just our path. What are your experiences to give me some insight. Thanks y'all. :)

Outward changes do take time. For me, the majority of noticeable differences happened after the five-month mark continuing to the eleven-month mark (three days ago) and beyond. This was after the point when my doses got to the point where my levels were proper and my T was supressed.

You may not have to wait that long; some people get breast growth and such really early, possibly as early as three months. I'm still waiting for breast development, myself, though - keep that in mind, as physical changes are. without doubt, wildly variable. Some may not even happen, others that happen only rarely may.

Things should start soon... but keep in mind that they may not. Be realistically optimistic. :)

The changes you should be experiencing now (or soon), you kinda gotta pay attention to. At your point, my nipples were sore, I was noticing a LOT of body hair on my hands in the shower, my skin started feeling less greasy, I got constipated (as my endo says: "Welcome to estrogen!") and I did not sweat as much. Of course my libido fell, too. I was also a little more unstable in the emotional department.

Now, I have a bit of breast tissue, my skin is extremely soft (especially right out of the shower), my chest hair is thinning out (although it's slowed dramatically), if I run my hands up and down my legs, dozens of hair fall out, my complexion is shifting to more of a brighter tint, my hands are dry no matter what, I've gotten horny maybe once this month (not counting some sort of stimulation by a guy), my body odor is like, non existant now... I can't even smell my arm pits unless I just got out of the shower, then I just smell the body wash I use. My emotions are so girly, at times they cannot be hidden. I used to say "aw" with my brain, now I say it without even thinking about it, as if it comes from my heart. Also, I've lost an entire 4" in my band. Things I used to sling around at work, I'm starting to ask coworkers to help out with me on.  I'm also itchy in random spots for no reason! It comes and goes..

Look for any slight changes you're experiencing now to amplify soon!

BTW, I'm 29 and I started Spiro on Sept 12. Of course, YMMV, and apparently my E to T levels went female pretty quickly. While I could write a book on what I have found to be the difference between estrogen and testosterone to be, I know I have much more to experience, because I still do not ever get mistaken for a girl (except from behind, or from a distance on slight occasion).
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

^Wow, looks like we are on the same schedule then with our HRT!!lol :)

Yeah, everyone notices different things as their transition goes on. My friend had tender breasts after a few weeks of starting HRT and I have not noticed one bit of sensitivity in that area yet, but I have noticed my hips have opened up already, which she has not experienced yet.

One question, my friend wants to know if she starts HRT before her growth plates completely close, would that effect her height at all or bones in any way, or does it not matter? Thanks

Aw, thanks. :) Yeah, I have not noticed one bit of breast growth either, but I plan on getting an augmentation in a few years anyways, so I am not too worried about that right now, I would like to see something start in that area though, I guess time will tell. We literally are undergoing a "second puberty." We have a while before we are done developing and changing from the hormones.

See, my hips aren't doing a damn thing! lol! My waist isn't shrinking either, darnit. Oh well, I'll stick with my banana shape I suppose.

As far as the growth plates question: she will not shrink, and her skull itself will not take on a more feminine appearance. However, bone growth due to testosterone will likely be halted or dramatically slowed.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

^Thanks, ps, do you mean bone growth due to "estrogen" will be slowed or halted, you said testosterone? LOL

Yeah, my waist has not shrank much, but  my hips have def. moved a bit more outward.

Don't get too down about your waist though because you are still WAY early in the process of HRT along with me. We have plenty of time left to see things change and happen.

My friends who is a MTF after being on HRT for 2 years is just NOW seeing her hips more prominent and her butt has gotten dramtically bigger. She had given up on that part a long time ago and was not expecting to see that happen after 2 years of HRT. It's all dependent on the person, genetics, age, doses, and overall health I guess. Just pray to the hormone Gods.haha ;)

It takes 2 years realistically. Even then, you might need surgery to correct stuff.

Some of have more femme features than others.
  •

starbright

^^Yeah, it takes about 2 years, sometimes 3 in some people. I know for a fact I am going to need surgery on my chest to enhance the size, but many genetic women have to do that, so I am not too worried about it. I already have some more feminine features in my face and body starting out, so that is a def. plus.

^PS, you look great Mahsa. :)

I don't want to rattle the parrot cage, but you were presenting as a gay man previous to transition?

  •

starbright

^Correct, I was presenting as a gay male, but was not dating for the most part.

The smile.... Thats how I knew.

I was one too...and to some people on this board, I'm still a gay male who took the wrong turn on the way to RuPaul's Drag Race LOL.

  •

^LMAO! That is way awesome, Love the analogy. Yes, we took the wrong turn for sure. We took that turn ALL THE WAY!

Most of the girls here equate "drag lite" with ciswomen... I posted some photos of drag-lites and they were like, "they all look real!"....

It's learning how to go drag lite...but be completely female at the same time. A delicate balance.

^^Yes, for sure. If you go too drastic with the make-up, you're only making it obvious what is going on. It's about finding a good balance and enhancing what you want enhanced. We all want to be beautiful and look natural, not a show-queen going to Target.lol :)

It's all about TarJay.

But makeup is your friend. So are gay men saying, "Oh hunnn that doesn't work"... GGs are seeing us through the whole, "OMG my ->-bleeped-<- is changing" as opposed to viewing the tgirl objectively. I emphasis natural makeup, but with contouring and beauty here...

The ideal tgirl is the one you do inface...But with non Krylon/ben Nye foundadi.
