To all you readers of the News on Susan's, the following articles are about the ongoing saga of Transgendered Woman Patrica Dludlu of Swaziland, Africa. Patricia's ongoing incarceration and legal proceedings paint a frightening picture of a nation and society that is both Homophobic and Transphobic. Unlike the United States, Canada and Europe, Africa is at odds with the LGBTIQ movement, and like Latin and South American Nations, death is often the result for those that identify and live as LGBTIQ.
The case of Patrica Dludlu underscores the various means by which a society and government can harass and humiliate an individual both privately and publicly.
Patrica Dludlu was originally arrested in June of 2010 for allegedly kissing a 19 year old male student in public. Later, more charges were against her filed, and eventually she was sent to prison. The media has given her the moniker "Sex Change", although Patricia has not had SRS/GRS/GCS, this is from her reportedly telling a classroom that she had her sex organs changed.
In an effort to make this thread less lengthy, I will post the current and previous 2 articles on this subject together, and post links to the others.
