http://www.lauras-playground.com/gender_therapists.htmIf you scroll down on this page, it lists a number of "gender specialists" in Michigan. I don't know where you live in Michigan, so unfortunately, I don't know how much this will help you either. However, has your current therapist ever written a letter for an Endo for a trans HRT before? If he/she hasn't, he/she may not know how to or may not be informed about trans-issues or your state laws involving HRT. If you haven't even discussed these issues with your current psych, the worst case scenario is that they may be thoroughly uunsupportive of transitioning trans-folks. If you know they are totally okay with your identity, of course, that's not a problem, but if you aren't sure how "trans-savvy" they are willing to be yet, then this could delay you transitioning for a really long time. My point is, it's better to figure out ASAP if you're seeing someone who is informed about what you're going through or can easily adapt to understanding your problems. If this continues, and you have to spend session after session trying to get him/her to help you with your problem and understand what you're going through - and he/she still simply not getting it, then I think it's time you see someone else. This doesn't necessarily make the psychologist you're seeing "bad", just that they can't successfully help you when you need it the most as many others could.
