Which reminds me of another time early in our marriage when I was still all man. It was around noon and my sweetie was cleaning the carpet and looked up at me and said, "Do remember what day it is?" Just the previous week I had noted that her birthday was coming up and suddenly the lights went on. I have to mention with great self admiration that I did a splendid job of recovery here. I said, "Yes sweetheart, happy birthday! I was just thinking that we'd spend the day at the mall, cruise Macy's and Penneys and pick out a couple of cute new outfits and then top off the day at Outback Steakhouse with an early dinner and a piece of that to-die-for chocolate cake!" Suddenly you could see the stars in her eyes as her face lit up with an adoring smile, because at that time I had never been known as anyone who would consider shopping with a woman at the mall under any circumstances. I picked out a couple of outfits that I thought would look gorgeous on her, she said that I had terrific taste in women's clothes. I actually had a great time of it, I was hooked!
