If the facial hair looks like it does in the pic, then yeah it passes

This post is less "do I pass?" and more "WHY don't I pass?" I simply don't, maybe 95% of the time...I don't know what it is about northerners but they seem to insist on adding a gender specific endearment on to everything they say  :P  so I constantly have to hear "darling" or "flower" tacked on to the end of every sentence by bus drivers and shop assistants. Or "excuse me miss"/"ask that lady" while I'm at work. It makes me cringe not only for obvious reasons but because if these people are seeing me as female, I must look SO butt ugly to them. I look in the mirror and see an average looking guy, but if I force myself to look as myself and see a girl...man she is ugly and weird looking :D

Anyway enough rambling, on to the pictures:

My good side...the side with less acne :P there is more acne on my other cheek than the pictures suggest, I guess the flash washed it out

I've worn glasses all my life, but I included a picture without glasses for comparison...as you can see because I've worn them so long I have that creepy sunken eye look :P but if not wearing them helps me pass I would gladly switch to contacts

Feel free to be brutally honest! You will not offend me, I genuinely want to know what's hindering me and if I can change it.

Hey Jeatyn,

That really sucks about the constant misgendering, and Im sorry to hear that for you.
In the Midlands, I swear it seems to be a thing also of always putting some gendering tag on the end of sentences. I used to despised hearing that "Thanks, duck". (But on the other hand, being called "mate" all the time now is great).

Ok, so onto the hopefully helpful honesty.
In your first picture, I think it your hip width in contrast with your leg length, makes it look like you have a curvy shape. Bulking up more (which I know can be difficult, especially pre T) will help as itll make you look more muscular/stocky.

In your close up pictures, to me its your mouth area that looks most feminine. I think your face shape is nothing to worry about, I think its fine and a great start for T to be working from. Your jawline isnt the softest Ive seen, and your cheeks dont seem so "full" as they do with women or guys pre T, which I think really adds to looking more female when people have full cheeks.
Im not too sure though what to suggest unfortunately, as you cant exactly change your mouth :/ T will help masculinize the features of your face, but for now Im not sure what to say.

The way youre dressing is fine. Maybe try to experiment abit more, using the clothes you like, to try to help make your shoulders look broader and take the focus away from the hips. How though, I have no idea :p I know nothing about fashion, so hopefully someone else can chime in here.

But, though it may take quite a while to experience good progress from where you are already, I just want to say to keep persevering and try not to let things get to you too much. I, as pretty much all of us here, know how it feels, and the frustration with it all. But just keep pushing forward, as its better than going backward.
Good luck.

Oh, and I just remembered, youre starting T around Thursday arent you...?
So, hopefully that badboy will work wonders asap and reduce that misgendering from 95% down to 0!

I am very curvy yes, there's a 10 inch difference between the smallest part of my waist and the biggest part of my hips >.> and with small shoulders, once I bind, I am the ultimate pear shape

I go to the gym 3 times a week and have a treadmill at home I use regularly but my body seems EXTREMELY adamant to hold on to the weight and the curviness, and refuses to gain any significant muscle.

It's encouraging to hear that it's not my face. I'm hoping beyond hope that once I start T (any day now, just trying to get around supply issues) I will see some actual gains from all the weight training I do and some actual hip loss from all the running.

I struggle to find shirts that will fit me properly because of the hip to shoulder ratio, I experimented with shoulder pads for a while but it looked off, not sure I was using them right :P  so I end up with them being super long once they're a big enough size to go over my hips, drowning my already short stature xD

I spent a lot of time in the midlands...duck was always a confusing one for me. It can be used for either gender depending on the person...an old lady will call a young boy "duck" but not so much if the ages were similar. I'd be over the moon to be called mate!

Jeatyn: imo, your face just looks quite young and smooth. But you do have features that suggest to me that T will help you pass quite quickly once your skin changes a bit. :)

Jeatyn I think you pass better with the glasses on :)

Aaron :D

@Jeatyn  I agree with Jared, I think you pass better when you wear the glasses. Maybe you should invest in  more masculine frames? :)
Actually I wear glasses too and I find it helps make my face look much more masculine if I wear the frames that have only cover the top half of the lenses. Sorry if I make no sense but I am really tired  :D
Nothing is true, everything is permitted.  8) Hell yeah I'm a game nerd!

Thanks guys ^_^

I'm not a fan of the frames with just the top bit....it makes the sunken eye thing really magnified so I look like I haven't slept for a billion years.

I've not had these frames long, and I spent hoooours picking them out, they seem to be the best ones for my face shape.

Jared

Yeah I also have glasses framed just on the top, but what Jeatyn said, makes sense to me seeing the pics :) You'll look great, don't worry :)

hey everyone. This is my first ever post on susans site. but I really want some outside advice about passing... I all of the pictures I am not packing or binding. The full body one I know I don't pass at all but what do you think my body looks girly in the partially skinny jeans? Anyway I'm pre-t. So do I pass and how old do I look?

THanks everyone!

Links I dont think the pictures worked...

wheat thins are delicious

That's cause where it says grab the code you have to pic the one that says "IMG code for forums and message boards."
I fixed the pics for you so they will show up here without folks having to link to them. I think you pass but for a 10-12 year old boy.

Thanks Andy! Also, I'm 5'10" I don't think there are many 10-12 year old guys that are that tall, what would that do to my passing? masculine girl, fem guy?

I could see someone thinking you were a teen boy early in puberty.  I believe my brother hit 6 foot when he was 13/14.  But when you are trying to pass for your age I think you will be taken for a masculine girl.

Jonas42, I think your face passes well in the two pictures that dont show your body :) You look about 14 to me. In the second picture, Im not sure what it is, but if I cover your head with my thumb, your body looks fine and passes really well. Maybe it is just the expression you have on your face? Or maybe it is your hair in that picture? Oh and I wish I was 5"10! :P

My 13 year old bro is about your height now, it's unusual but not that unusual. You pass to me.

hi there im new here and i can finally put up a picture to see yalls opinion on if after a while do you think i could pass after a while on hrt? thanks! btw its my profile picture lol

Jonas: You look like a young teenage guy in both of the photos of your face, and your body passes fine to me in the full body photo but something about the face/hair there doesn't look quite right, I think maybe it would help if you cut the back of your hair a little shorter because from that angle it looks a little like a pony tail or something but it might be fine in real life because it's more obvious that it's not.

cbergusn:  You pass completely to me in your profile pic.  For some reason I feel like you should be an Olympic swimmer, don't ask me why :P
