Annah

mine was pretty uninvolved lol. I asked my mother what she thought would be a good name. She replied, "The name I was suppose to give you."

So that's how I got "Annah"

Very similar to me then !  ;D lol, it is actually very weird when this happens,. My mother was supposed to call me "Catherine", but I inadvertently chose it anyway, with out knowing about that. When I found out, I think we were both a little stunned, to say the least.

I had talked about this topic with a couple of friends. Really about you having the opportunity to choose your own name now. I mentioned like why not choose something different like Pickle (random thought ). They laughed and started to call me pickle.lol... But I see your point. I noticed it too.

I almost went with the name Jamie bc it was was similar to my boy name. However I decided to stick with Harleen (Harley). I liked it because it refers to Harley Quinn which explains my personality a lot. Hahaha. :)

I also asked my mom what would she had named me if I was a girl and she said Clementine. I was like hellz no. lol.

I really think its from all the porn though.

By that logic they'd all be called Crystal or something.

Whenever I hear the name Erika I think of that Pokemon gym leader, and yeah, the only people with that name I've heard of were trans. Emily and Zoey are just popular names in general, people need to get creative!

lol looking on that website, I see the meaning of "Catherine" is:

QuoteFrench and English: from the medieval female personal name Catherine, Latin Caterina. This is of uncertain origin, being first attested in Greek in the form Aikaterinē but later affected by folk etymological associations with Greek katharos 'pure'. It was borne by various early Christian saints, and was popular throughout the Middle Ages.

I was 'Never' pure  :P haha.

Is it the same as why all dentists are called Rob?

No, that's a professional requirement due to the pricing structure of their private treatment. Once you've been, you realise that's what they've done. I'm pretty sure their surname has to be DaFool, too.

I dunno why..

I named myself after someone I knew growing up... during my teenage years she was the only one who knew about my love for womans pantyhose..... she even helped me shave my legs for the first time.. sadly she is no longer with us :(

she would have been proud of me coming forward with this transition... so I have her name = Noleen.

I don't know of any other transsexual Alice's. Although Alice isn't an especially common name any-more.

Am I the only one who chose their new name specifically because they've never met anyone else with that name? I've literally never met anyone outside my family with my male name. I don't think I'd know how to handle someone else having my name.

Back in the bad old days when everybody went stealth, "common sense" was that you always picked a common name so you wouldn't "stand out". I've seen it repeated on more than one well-known TG site. That could at least explain some of the older women.

Oh c'mon! No one has mentioned Amanda, yet? I was considering it, actually, but only to be ironic.

Then I realized that I had been drinking too much PBR while listening to vinyl. You can only be a hipster douche to a certain extent. I think there are laws about it in some states.

Noooooooooo!  You'll turn into her! Hahaha.  My dog has the name Harley Quinn and she's a lot like the character. -.-;

Anyway, I chose the name Lynn Gabriel because it's nicely androgynous.  It's not legal yet and I'm debating if I ever want to make it legal.

Tazia of the Omineca

Never in my Life have I met anyone named Tazia, or Zylphia.

Tazia is a perfect name for me meaning "Reborn", and Zylphia is too meaning roughly "Frailty" lol
Just some tidbits for you guys. :)
