Disgusting

My name is Kris, but you can call me Disgusting, Dis, or even Willis.  I'm 23, currently living in Iowa with hopes of moving back to my home state of NC whenever I can find a job and get some money.  At present, though, I'm trying to sort out just what needs to be done in my life so that I can keep moving forward.  It can be difficult, especially having recently realized that I will not have the support of my family.  Fortunately, I do have my friend and roommate (who is still legally my husband) to help me get where I need to be, though as can be expected I'm largely on my own in this.  I'm getting there, though, slowly but surely.  Right now my main physical concerns are with my health, such as getting to a proper weight and being in better overall shape, and I've been making doctor's appointments to try and get all of that mess settled.  I'm looking forward to the day when I can hopefully seek some sort of treatment (T and top surgery are my dream goals) and really start living as myself and not something in-between or being seen as someone I'm not.  It really gets to me sometimes, but I'm sure I'll make it.  I'm a persistent little bugger, just like the cockroaches in our apartment.

More about me on a personal level, for anyone who may be curious:
-I'm pleased to be a Southern white boy with what one may well call redneck heritage.
-My favorite hobbies are writing and drawing, which I sometimes combine in the form of short comics or illustrated roleplay-style stories that I write with my best friend.
-I love cartoons and animation, always have.
-I'm also pretty fond of animals, especially cats and reptiles.
-I can be a little shy, but once you get me going (especially on a subject I like), I never shut up.
-I am very much a "quality over quantity" type of person in nearly every aspect of life, especially friendships.
-I am a non-spiritual atheist, but having grown up in a Christian family and seeing how strongly that religion has affected so many things around me, I can't shake my attachment to Christianity.
-I have a wide variety of tastes, so asking me about my favorites is probably a waste of time.
-I love cooking and cake decorating.
-I also really love anything to do with horror, Halloween, haunted houses, and the like.  It doesn't matter if it's cheap and cheesy or dark and dreadful; if it's meant to be spooky or scary, I adore it.

I'm pretty much an open book as you may be able to guess, so if there's anything else anybody wants to know about me, feel free to ask.  You aren't gonna embarrass or offend me, I promise.

Hi Dis, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 7846  strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother.

Thanks for the greetings so far, everyone.  This seems like a pretty nice place and I'll be sure to read through those links and post around a little more in the future.  I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing a little more of myself in the process.

Aha, good luck with that, Sadie!

In that case, I am glad to have helped.  Sort of.   ;D

Well if you hadn't pointed me here I'd have kept wandering around and getting rejected by other places. There's just not a whole lot I've found for Significant Others.
  •

Disgusting

And I still find that incredibly sad.  Friends and family need support and understanding just as much as the people directly going through all these situations.
  •

Red Lion

Definitely,

It's a lot better if everyone involved can find away to stay on the same page and get help coping.

And thank you for the welcome, too!  So far I am enjoying it.

Hi Kris ,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking. And there is nothing wrong in talking a leg off an iron pot. I'm the same. I'll even talk to fence post if it stays there long enough

There can't be too much wrong with you. If you love cats, you're perfectly normal and healthy.  ;D

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
