I saw that a few people had recently posted about top surgery with Dr. Rockmore in Albany, NY. I had surgery with him a week ago and wanted to share my thoughts/experiences. I feel as though it might benefit those who live in the area/nearby and might be interested in choosing a (more) local surgeon vs. traveling far.
Originally, I wanted to go to Garramone, but after I saw a few of my friends' results from Rockmore, I immediately scheduled a consult with him -- the idea of being far away from home and having to travel (fly) after surgery didn't appeal to me to begin with (I live in NY, Garramone is in FL), so I figured a consult couldn't hurt. I knew right away that he was the surgeon I wanted to go to. I live right in Albany, so his good results along with the fact that he's 10 minutes from my house were all I needed to decide to go to him instead.
I know a lot of people are nervous about going with a lesser-known surgeon for top surgery -- I wanted to share my story because he is a lesser-known surgeon who is great (both personality-wise and results). The staff at the surgery center were genuinely nice and amazing (I've seen a lot of rude/bad nurses, so it was a refreshing and comfortable experience). I'd suggest that anybody looking into top surgery at least check out surgeons that are more local to them (consults can't hurt!). I think that being at my house, around my family and friends really helped with recovery. It put me at ease (and saved me a lot of money).
