DHT and hair

i remember reading that DHT is responsible for hair lose and facial hair growth. also DHT cream is used by ftms to prep for a meta. so i was wondering in theory would DHT cream applied to ones face cause facial hair to grow? and would applying DHT cream to ones head make ones hair fall out?
