Since there is no obvious choice, and there is no right solution this is not about which is better than the other but rather experiences.

I am on the pill right now for E, rather than the shot as I was scared of hormonal imbalances as the dose wears thin.  But I also heard it works better in some situations but I don't know why.  I have been thinking about taking the shot for a long time though and I believe testimony from those who experienced one or even both to be more valuable in our inexact science of variables.

Have anyone had better results with the pill?  over shot or topical solutions?  I just see people raving about other solutions!

I see most people in this forum doing shots or topical.

I always wanted to try the shot but only pills and patches are available where I live AFAIK.
"Of course!"

I tried pill, they were great and I got fast results (age?genetics?), but so many of my mtf friends were doing shots and raving about it so I told my endo about them, and boy do they work:P

All you have to do to inject is probably just be human, it's not hard at all.
I can see me
I can see you
Are you me?
Or am I you?

Well I surely am human  ;D

Yea when I see my doctor next time I will definitely talk to him about switching.  I am really curious as to what it will do for ME.  Will definitely relief some anxiety over having to get a prescription every month for 2 pills.

transdermal aka shot/sublingual/patch/creme,         benfits are strong estrogen absorption and quicker body response to estrogen dependent growth.

oral/pill,      benifits are low cost,   downside, the liver breaks the estrogen down into a lesser form of estrodial. but the benifit is a bi product called Sex hormone binding globulants, that bind the free floating testosterone in your system. thus working like a slow paced T blocker.

I was on low dose pills for about 5 months now without knowing the real reason why, and my endo told me after demanding to know why, and it was so my T levels would slowly drop due to the SHBG  without the need for adding T blockers to the mix, so my liver/body didnt have the extra chemicals processing through it.   then he put me on a high dose Patch along with my old doses on the pill.    each endo does it diffrently. but their is reason for it, and in the end it all usually works out,   just depends on if you wanna take the slow/safe/and cheap way,         or what my endo calls Shock HRT, which involves T blockers and high E right away.

I prefer the patches and the pills, cause it keeps your mental state/mood fairly evened out, one of my friends who used the shot was on what I call a rollercoaster from hell.  her benifit is she looks alot more feminine then me already. tho, she paid for it with insane mood swings.

if your state side,  if you have insurance id see if they participate in Medco, or other pharmacy to home programs, my doctor filled out the paperwork for me, and medco mails me a 3 month supply of all my meds, right to my door, no trips to the pharmacy, no chance of them not having my stuff in stock, and its cheaper.  Hope that helps you.

The first HRT doctor I went to exclusively prescribes pills to be taken sublingually (or patches for older folks with liver problems). The second doctor I saw when I moved cities wanted to move me to injections as he believes the results are superior. But I couldn't tolerate injections - they led to a drastic increase in the frequency of my migraines (I got 11 in a 2 week period), so I switched back to pills.

The results have overall been alright - I haven't been able to pass as a guy since about 4 and 1/2 months on HRT. I've also gained a couple inches to my hips... but my boobs won't grow - still an AA at 20 months - and I've had no impact on body hair (admittedly it was limited to begin with). I'm not sure I'm really a useful example though as my starting point was unusual and my metabolism is pretty unique.

The primary reason for this thread has definitely been answered.  I really wanted to know how the shot worked vs the pill and I got it.  As well as further information about functions the pill does as a plus vs its weaknesses.

Thanks!

Well as I said, I will definitely try the shot, as for having it delivered well.  Ya know I am always antsy about having girly stuff delivered to my job xD

I like the idea of it working more efficiently, I don't have any ill effects with the pills in terms of head aches ect ect so the worst thing that could happen is mood swings and if they are that bad I always have the option to back away after 3 months, 4 months.

I am also not trying to rush my effects,  breast growth is primarily genetic and age related.

I know you say it's been answered, but I'll chime in anyways.

When I started HRT, I was on sublingual for 5 months. Then I switched to injections. The injections were awful for me... 3 days after each injection I was having hot flashes, getting oily hair / skin, smelling male etc. I then switched back to sublingual and I've been fine ever since.

If I had to guess.. the effectiveness of shots depends on how fast the metabolism in your muscles are (as that's where you end up putting the stuff when you inject). Those with high metabolism will burn through that dose quicker than it takes to put estrogen back in there. I'd be curious to understand the differences of effectiveness as a circumstance of age (since metabolism slows later in life).
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.
