Talking to a friend I grew up with. I've not talked to him since 05. He is trying to understand it all.


Update. We talked the past couple of hours, he has really taken this well, he missed me alot, he doesn't use the proper pronouns yet but seeing as I've not talked to him in several years, it's only natural. I will accept that he has been super cool over all and is genuinely trying to grasp it. I will update tomorrow after he has had some time to absorb it. Besides once he sees me as amber he will lose the "other" in mind and truly see I am so much happier now.

This has been a defining moment in my transition. Me and him were practically brothers growing up from 13-19. Think Turk and JD from scrubs. That's how close we were. I've not been this happy in so long.

I had sort of the opposite experience for a few hours today when I ran into a friend (who just loves to give people a hard time) in girl mode and well,..  It was in public and while he knows I'm pretty weird, it was still super uncomfortable as I didn't want to explain things just then.  Anyway it got sorted out later and as far as blergh moments go I guess it wasn't to bad so now I feel pretty good about it.
Anyway, I'm super happy for you getting back in contact with an old friend, especially someone you were so close with!
Hmmm, think I have to go watch Scrubs now....

She just left and I have to wake up in an hour. I'm going to be a dragging, useless, half dead, and confused zombie until I get home in the afternoon. Yet I have a huge dumb grin on my face because it is totally worth it.

Watching the Uni Motorcycle Society President trying to do a burn-out and a mono on a Honda CB125.     Did manage a few seconds wheel spin before it stalled, and got the front wheel in the air 6" for about a microsecond!

I'm still in touch with a youth group leader from when I was in high school. We were commiserating that we have college-aged kids when she mentioned that it seemed only recently that I was "one of her teens."

It could be argued that David was one of her teens, not Connie. But she claimed me as "one of her teens."

It made me feel special.

I got to talk to my friends uncle, we spent a lot of time at his place as kids. He has been very accepting and even calls me amber and her etc My friend is very much like how my brother is. It's going to be a while, I still get the dudes, bros man etc. I will just have to walk him through it very slowly.
