I had an early morning leadership meeting in the boardroom, and one of the vp's I've worked with in the past was seeing me in person for the first time since I transitioned. She pulled me aside after the meeting, patted me on the arm, and in a conspiratorial whisper said "Maddie you look terrific. You are one of the ladies now, so I can tell you this. Your skin is just amazing! You BITCH!" We both laughed and I thanked her, saying it usually looks better but I just had 1600 whiskers removed the night before so I'm a little blotchy.

After work I was downtown heading for my car and an attractive woman on a date leaned out of her jeep, motioned me over, and exclaimed "I LOVE your color combination. The white and pink work perfectly together with the black! I was so going to wear white jeans this morning, but I was afraid because you know, labor day... but you prove that it looks great any time! Thank you! I am stealing your look."

I got compliments from at least half a dozen random people today. Sometimes you just shine and don't even know it, I guess. I used to dread casual day at work because its harder to appear feminine. I guess I'm over that.

Thank you.
Happy today about having respite, starting to learn to sorta kinda have a friend, and, uh, ramen. I love ramen. If I ever get rich I'll still eat that stuff.
Friends and ramen. Two great things that don't cost much and are so satisfying.
