I read Parrotfish and really like it.
I decided to change my name to Victor. I'm a little nervous because I don't know when/if I can change my name and I'm not exactly sure where to go from here, but it still feels good to take this step.

That is so cool! By the way, I was Madeline to my family and friends and caregivers for 9 months before I got the legalities squared away, and 3 months at work. It really helps people to get the pronouns etc right when they have your new name to practice with.

Yes I like Victor as well.

And it does take ages for people to get used to pronouns and even then mistakes are made. But they are unintentional and you have to get used to them. I'm with people who knew me as a guy for 20+ years and it takes time for people to react automatically.
