Realising that the Biology exam I had pretty much written off may not be a total train wreck after all.

Lots of questions on stuff we skimmed over in lectures, and fewer on stuff we were led to believe was crucial.  As I didn't expect a good mark it may not be too bad.  I overloaded this semester and needed to prioritise so won't be concerned at whatever mark I get.

Lecture was cancelled. ;D I got an email like 5 minutes before it began saying to tell the students that we would pick up next week.

So I've spent the last hour having a nice, leisurely breakfast, talked to a student who had some concerns about her performance, went outside. Hey, I get paid either way. :P

My sick ewe is hardly lame now.  And she's gaining weight.  Though I don't know which of the ten things I did to her is causing this, so I'm reluctant to stop any. ::)

And I saw the horses today, and I'm going to be working with them again. :eusa_dance:

Sounds like good news! Are you out of the water and drying out now?

This...... ;D

FRESNO, Calif. –  A California man got an early morning beat down after being pummeled by a karate student who found him drunk in her bathroom.
Jannine Ramirez had just won a karate competition when she arrived at her Fresno apartment early Sunday and heard someone in the bathroom. Ramirez, 20, kicked down her bathroom door, then kicked the intruder through a shower door.
She continued with an onslaught of kicks and punches until Wilberto Zapata, 18, was outside her apartment.
"We didn't recognize him," Ramirez said. "Me and my mom live in the apartment, so no guy whatsoever should be in there."

I told someone I have a crush on I like them.
She was amazing about it and stayed up to talk to me till 1am.
I feel so much better now, I can finally relax and I feel much more at peace with the idea of us just being friends now. Of course I still have feelings and I might have lows now and again but I can see the light. That's the important thing.   :)

Aw, man. I am glad to see this is in the happy thread though. I'm sorry that you'll only just be friends, but I am so glad she was kind, and I am glad that you feel able to move on. *hugs*

Tom, that's really encouraging :).

I'm up late full of chocolate, sharing mutual lust for Debbie Harry with an online queer/genderqueer friend ;D.

I mean, wow...

Actually Halloween night... The glee of my one and only trick or treater at having Cat Woman open the door and give her treats  :)  It made me happy to see a child light up with such excitement  :)

There were a ton of trick or treaters out in my neighborhood, but only one came to my door. My apartment building does look a bit sketchy, as do all in view of the freeway. Next year I'll put up decorations and maybe put a lamp in the front window. My daughter got a huge amount of candy and we went home when the bucket got too heavy. ;D

What made me happy today was the hedonistic high of remembering that the awful dental work I'm dealing with over and over means my teeth are getting fixed. They've hurt for so many years and are so full of holes (I grind and have no enamel barrier on surfaces that touch) that this is a dream come true. It's thousands of dollars worth of root canals and fillings, nothing I could've (or would've) done without insurance. I'm giddy.

It's alright man lol I get friend zoned a heck of a lot so I'm kinda used to the rejection part. I've also got used to women never actually saying 'no' to me because they don't want to hurt my feelings. There was a time I would have clung to that. I'm glad to say I've learned from past experiences. It's really rather embarrassing how badly I handled these things as a teenager lol just came across as desperate and clingy.

Sometimes things just aren't meant to be, I'll accept it (which won't be easy) and I'll move on. I like this girl a lot i think we could have a good friendship but for that to work my expectations need to be zero. I'd much rather have her as a friend then nothing at all, so that's what I'm focusing on and working towards now. If I'm meant to be with a girl she'll say yes.

I have the letter and forms signed by my endo. I can begin the paperwork process for my legal name & gender change!

Just been skyping with a young trans woman in Dublin who's a fellow Buddhist - we're talking about going on retreat together, that would be so cool! :D

Well you're ahead of me on that one. I can't handle rejection very well, whether it be real or perceived. :P

That's wonderful Constance!

Answers are easy. It's asking the right questions which is hard.

Be positive in the fact that there is always one person in a worse situation then you.

My friend came over and cleaned out the stuff he was storing here. The garage is cleaned out and I can get the car in it. Yeah no more brushing snow off of it.  ;D

My approach towards what I am doing at the university is beginning to improve. Honestly, I had a pretty piss poor attitude going on for a while. Towards my classes (when I had them), my research, and my teaching. But it is getting better now. I think a big part of it was just taking the pressure off myself to go for a PhD right after this. It let me take a step back and evaluate a bit.
