I had my first round of laser hair removal today and I am over the moon about it  :D
Although it really was quite painful; less elastic band snap, more being shot in the face with a laser.

Poor baby! Like Arnold says, "No pain, no gain!"

Congratulations! And you can ask your physician for a prescription for EMLA (numbing cream); it helps.

A Prescription for EMLA/LMX Creme 4 or 5% is not required, it is not listed as a Controlled Substance per the Controlled Substance Act in the United States. Many LHR and Electrologist professionals sell it to their clients. It is also available online at amazon.com, ebay, etc.

...it does help, I have used it for both LHR and Electrolysis.

...plus I was  "ma'am'ed" again at work today by a good looking guy! I walking down the hallway and heard someone say "sir" from behind, and when he got beside me it changed to "ma'am".

Oh the pain wasn't that bad.  Besides I kind of enjoy the endorphins ;)

A silly comment. I wonder why woman try to have natural child birth without pain blockers and I think I know.

I wonder if it is the same for other things ?

Hey tough girl, try the EMLA cream you won't regret it! I used it for electrolysis, apply it about a half hour before your session, it will take the edge off!

Oh heavens girls, don't let my silliness derail the thread!

What made me happy today is finding that I've hit my target weight and pretty much gotten rid of the last of my boy shaped body fat :)

I was really depressed and hurting for about two weeks. But not only have I come out of it, I feel stronger and refreshed as a result.

I'm happy, because feeling that bad made me so scared. From January to June, I worked really hard with a counsellor to improve things for myself. Feeling that terrible made me worry that I didn't accomplish anything, that I was just kidding myself into thinking I could ever feel normal and ok.

But it's ok to feel sad and hurt sometimes, because bad things happen in life. What matters is that we learn from them, and try to grow, and find our own way. It's ok if life isn't perfect and it's ok if I'm not perfect all the time. That is something I would have had a lot of trouble saying before.

That shows a lot of growth and insight, Casey. It's amazing how much better life gets when we are brave enough to slog through the bad stuff so we can put it away.

Maybe it is time to put away the chainsaw? Pillow fights are more fun.
Hugs,
Maddie

Thanks Maddie ;D I googled "man pillow fight" innocently, to find a new picture for my avatar, but some of them were not entirely appropriate. :P I don't know why I am surprised lol.

My dog used to chew up small tree branches and barf a big loaf on the carpet in the middle of the night. It was so irritating because we have hardwood floors and yet he'd always have to do it in the middle of a carpeted area. Grrrrr!

Mine will do it on the couch or the carpet, never on the linoleum. My spotbot has gotten a lot of use and I originally questioned the need for the silly thing when my dad wanted to get it years ago.

I can so relate! I love my dog but there are times I'd like to shoot him. Then he lowers his head and looks up at me with those big brown eyes as if to say, "Me bad, I'm sorry!" and all my anger goes away.

This actually happened last night but I forgot to post about it :P

I went to my support group for the first time since I started T. The first reaction I got when I walked in and said hello to everybody was "oh my god your voice has dropped so much!"

It's awesome to know that other people have noticed it too  ;D
