The author's copy of my first novel arrived in the mail today!

Adam (birkin)

A friend of my dad's (who I have heard about for years but never met) was over today. She accidentally called me my old name. I suppose because my dad used to use it to describe me to her for many years. Anyway, the first time she did it she said "oops! OK, if I do it again I owe you ten dollars." I laughed cause I assumed she was messing. Then she accidentally used the old name and pronouns again. And she said "S*!" and ran for her purse...she pulled out $20 and put it in my hand. I was insistent on not taking it but she didn't take no for an answer, saying that she "needed to learn." I have to say, that was really kind of her. She did it a third time and was about to pull out more, and I said "No, you said ten but gave me twenty, so we're even." :P

We should institute a "wrong name jar" in my family. Anyone who uses the wrong name puts in $10. I'll retire at 25.

I'm glad she showed such a desire to get it right, seems like a decent person.

I have been so bored at work for the past six or so months because they can't give me enough work to be busy. Well, since I came out as being trans and am now full time they started to load me down with tons of projects. Most of which are high profile. It's like now that they know what is going on with me they accept me. It makes me really happy to finally be busy.

I'm glad. I had the same experience. Transitioning at work increased my closeness to my coworkers and management, and their level of trust in me.

I totally get this. I take a lot of pride in my job and I don't like it when I'm not contributing as much as I could. Your employer is lucky to have such a conscientious worker.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I didn't have an actual class today (it was a short review session to go over what's needed for Monday's final), bought some delicious cinnamon-peppermint-Christmas-y froufrou coffee since today was also payday; only have a few hours of work to do then I can head to the pharmacy on my way home to hang out with my roommates and Alyx. Today is a good day. owo
