My mum came round today & gave me a new pair of hair straighteners, it may seem like a small thing but for my mum this is a huge step towards acceptance.
I was even brave enough to keep my bra on under my gender neutral clothes (I took out the padding as I don't want to force the issue too much).
Now if only I could get her to use my real name we'd really be getting somewhere

It takes time Jayne, we get there best by doing it in increments. You're already seeing some clear results of being patient with her.

My E dosage has been increased. This pleases me.

When i've moaned on here over the last couple of years about her not accepting my transition i've had people say I should cut her out of my life, I understand why they've said that but I knew that patience would get there in the end.
If I was moaning about my dad however then they'd have been spot on, in fact i've never bothered telling him, we haven't spoken in years & my life is much better for it.

It all depends on the individuals involved, some are lost causes but others, no matter how hard they resist will come round eventually.

It took me 10 months on T to start passing, but it seems to be happening now. Finally! Lol. I've been called ma'am maybe twice in the past 6 weeks, for a while there were a lot of deliberate non-genderings, but now I'm getting an influx of "sir's" and "man's." Haven't had anyone call me she or anything either, other than family, and even they are coming around.

I'm a little nervous still about embracing it fully...since for ages, all anyone ever saw was female, I find it hard to believe I'm finally here and finally being seen as a guy. So I'm a bit reticent about my happiness. Like, I'm going to the thrift shop now and I'm still wondering if I'll have to correct any of the people there.

You're right about pretty much everything you say. And it does drive me crazy! Especially since you get so much satisfaction.

She went to the bathroom, and I was reading/thinking and looking very serious...so when I least expect it she pops up with this face and goes "WHYYYY SO SERIOUS??" Scared the bejeezus out of me.

My hair is long enough that I accidentally rolled it up in the car window this morning. Sounds like small potatoes,  I know, but it pleases me greatly. I've had long hair since I was 15 but have always kept it at neck length so I could shrug off gender questions by just being an androgynous hippy, but to finally have it reach boob length feels great! Now I just need to wait until after I visit my parents in May so I can get a nice femme cut.

I know what you mean, i've had my hair shaved short for most of my adult life & it's now past my shoulders, a few nights ago Poopie flopped onto the bed with me & trapped my hair, it hurt like hell but actually made me happy that my hair was long enough for this to happen

THE TRASHMEN PEOPLE CAME AND TOOK OUR TRASH I'M SO HAPPY!  I LOVE WATCHING THEM TAKE OUT THE TRASH!  I was jumping up and down going "YEAH THE TAKE OUT THE TRASH YEAAAAAAH WOOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!" I had the biggest smile on my face.  I love it when the trashmen come.  I actually went to the trashcan just to put one cough drop wrapper in it just so it can be taken away FOREVER HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! After they dumped the trash I took the trashcan back to my house.  I actually ran with it while pumping my fist into the air and started yelling and cheering (not too loud though).

I love trash days.

The barista in Starbucks - who always used to 'madam' me - now recognises me on sight, knows my male name, and has memorised my usual order. Today I didn't get 'madamed' by her, which pleases me greatly. :D
