Just came out to my friends and family and am anticipating starting HRT.

I identify as a trans-lesbian and am probably looking for a less overtly feminine look than most people here.

So, judging on this picture, could I pass one day?

I think that you will probably do quite well  :)  Have you posted in the introductions topic area yet?

I think so, you look very sporty, so already have the tomboy look, if thats what your going for, me I would call myself a trans-lesbian also , but I'm aiming for a more girly look.

Thanks :)

I'm actually one of the least sporty people alive! but I am a musician and identify, as you correctly assume, as a tomboyish girl.

I apologise for attempting to explain my gender identity through my sexuality - it is never a good idea!

So... I am now posting in this thread for the first time (I think :P). Lately I have had som serious doubts that I ever will be passable =/, it really makes me depressed like nothing else. I can hardly think or function normally anymore because of it.

I am flying again. Bus as a guy and therefore I had to cut my hair  :'( (thats why it is so short in these pictures) I really hate it because I looked much better before. But I need the money for surgery so I had to do it

I cant believe that I am doing this!

This is me 5o clock in the morning and looking like hell, no makeup. and no expressions so there wont be any illusions lookswise, :

A little later during the day.

Eyes fixed up + lipgloss and blush.

I know one thing, my nose is huge and is a big obstacle for me right now :(, it needs to be fixed. I got it from my mom and it looks too bold and harsh. Will fix it during 2013 though thats my goal.

FFS is also something that I will get but I am not sure when yet (its all about the money).

I am soon 8months in on HRT. But I had some minor setbacks on the way, about 5 months in I switched to gel but it didnt work for me and my t spiked so I lost alot of progress =/. Just got it back under control a month ago.

So, what can I do to make my appearance better? I mean I know how to do it with makeup but I dont want to use alot of it all the time. Some days I am just lazy.

Carolina1983, well you have a big forehead, but a lot of women do actually, even though more men have this. But I see nothing about you that screams male. If you get to a place where you can get some bangs going again, even better. Your pretty and have a great smile anyhow and that's what matters most.

My forehead is not big its huge :P. I will get bangs again. I cant stay like this for much longer because it makes me feel really bad about myself. And I am starting to get anxiety problems too because of my appearance.

Thanks for a honest reply :)

Don't take this the wrong way, but you look a lot like Justin Trudeau.

Carolina I don't understand why you post here, you're already into HRT and from past pics I've seen, or even your avatar image, you already look great!

you can style your hair to hide your forehead if that bothers you. for example:

Your face is already girly, but of course it's very difficult for us to see that in our own face. we always remind our male image. but from the outside perspective I can say that you already look good. I know it's not too much when you cannot believe it, but I wanted to say it still.

BTW we're born the same year  ;)

thanks jamie , i know its not everyone makeup tastes but i enjoy a bold look :)
and about the ffs yea i know i have quite a androgynous face naturally but i still do have some quite mauscline features , im hoping ffs will push me over from androgynous to a 100 percent female face

heres a pic of me with all my hair pushed up into a messy bun on the back of my head and softer/ more subtle makeup

You know, it's sort of funny.  We all are our own worst critics.  I look at your photo, face on, and see nothing masculine.  Perhaps a profile would show some brow ridge (bossing), or nose work that might need to be done, but honestly, I don't see a thing that is not completely passable and feminine!

I have three daughters, aged 19 to 26.  You fit right in.

This is me at the moment - currently only out to a handful of friends.

Sorry about the rather lame photo quality.

I never really thought of myself as looking like what people would generally consider 'masculine', but then, I'm not so sure nowadays...
My Skype name is twisted_strings.

If you need someone to talk to, and would like to add me as a contact, send me a contact request on Skype, plus a PM on here telling me your Skype name.  :)

@Mememtomori: The exaggerated lips and the eyebrows are horrible imo and do not help you at all. Let these poor eyebrows grow back before you're too old and they just don't grow back.. Other than that I don't see much hard features to me these two elements make you look beyond fake.

@Carolina: Your face is still fairly masculine but there are still many changes ahead of you from HRT. What is really screaming man is the hairline/forehead you need to deal with that at all costs. Your nose is really not as bad as you think( can't tell for sure without a side pic) but I'm confident that with a little more HRT you'll be satisfied of your results without FFS.

I would say you're close. Get rid of the shadow (it's not bad, some concealer should do the trick)and shape your eyebrows and it will do wonders. Also, I would go with something other than a turtleneck, it makes your neck look short. Go with some sort of plunging neckline.

I'm more like truetranssoulrebel, so I'm not exactly MtF (perhaps MtFtA or MtA). I would prefer to identify as female, but not a girly female, and like women as well.

So, repeating the question, could I pass one day?

As female? Yes
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

Yes and that worries me =/, that my face still is fairly masculine  :'(. How long shall I wait until deciding on all the FFS procedures that I need?

My hairline is something that I dislike really much, I really got all the bad traits from my mother =/. The ting is that I feel that my nose is too harsh and big, it kills my appearance. Even my wife said that with a more "soft" nose I would do so much better.

But there is more to do ofcourse and one of those things are my hairline, the other is forehead and brow bossing + chin.

I need to make a priority list because of money issues.

Right now its really hard to keep going because I am forced to present male which sucks and makes me feel like a joke.

Thanks for the honest comments :)

As Michelle said. You look almost the same as my ex's best friend, so with the shadow gone you will look good :)
