I'm pre-everything. Just started psychiatric evaluation. Having my next visit in 3 days for psych testing.
Dunno if the link'll work. :x

MtF, right? You're face is already so feminine it's hard to tell... And I mean that as a compliment :D

You're gonna do just fine- I am sure of it! What a great starting point. I bet you'll be passing with minimal effort.

May I ask, how old are you?

Good plan Bethany! When building a house you don't put the finish on until after the foundation, framework and structural things are completed first!

For certain things, I think I may somewhat disagree.. Like the browline. Seems to me like that isn't going to change at all with hrt... Maybe a verrrry slight bit (with the muscles in the center of the brow and thinning of skin of course). But honestly I think ffs brow/forehead correction could happen at any time and it's not worth giving HRT time to fix it if that is the only issue. Especially the orbitals. Same goes for the profile of the nose. The width of the nose probably will change though, so its appearance will be feminized to some degree

For things like jawline, nose, cheeks, chin, and overall face shape, I think HRT definitely is worth waiting for. I mean have a look at Catherine's photos in the before/after thread. Simply incredible.

And yes, I am considering having my brow/orbitals corrected soon... So maybe that is why I am rationalizing fixing it sooner rather than later ;)

I think people who have not started HRT and are already thinking about FFS, need to talk to other trans people, because they will tell you that it is not an easy ride going from male to female.

All this from start to finish takes time, so why rush it?

And don't forget, anything you have done now, will I am sure still change once HRT kicks in. So you may not be happy again about brow and forehead or what ever FFS you have!!

In all fairness, I do believe it's a good idea to have a general idea of what you want changed about your face. Even if you haven't underwent a good year or 2 of HRT.  It's good to at least have a documentation of what you'd like to have changed or fixed.  I'd agree that it's not the best choice to actually pursue it before HRT does it's modifications, but still. That statement has been made numerous times on this, no use in repeating it. Ya know. :P

That's actually my mother's, her boyfriend gave it to her and my Cousin who lives with us stole it. xD
I have a cat named Lightning.

Forced to share a room with him. It gets aggravating :x

I am just starting my transition, no hormones or anything yet.  I've done a decent amount of research, I have an inverted V body shape so hopefully I'll pass body wise, but I'm not sure about facially.  What do you guys think?

@Sierra Belle - I think your facial features are already delicate. You should do great.

@Jenna B. - It's hard for me to tell. You aren't trying to look feminine in those pics. I can't judge all your facial structure very well either since you only have front view profile pictures. A side view profile is needed if you want an opinion on whether you'll want FFS or not (specifically brow contouring). You do have a great smile and very nice eyes. I think with the right makeup your eyes would pop very well.

Your somewhat receded hairline and widow's peak could pose a problem (I have a similar hairline and use a wig to hide it). You may want to consider shopping for a wig that frames your face well (de-emphasizes your square jaw line), at least until you can grow your hair out. It looks thick enough that you could part it in a way to hide the receded sides when it's long enough. Maybe sometime down the road you can consider whether to get a hairline advancement or transplant.

There is some toning down you need to do. HRT will probably help in that regard, but you might want to think about changing your exercise routine to one that is geared towards feminizing your body. I can't link anything but I'm sure if you google around you will find several exercise regimens for this purpose. I'm currently doing some I found on Renee Reyes' site and like them pretty well (in addition to a lot of cardio). Specifically I like the pullovers she suggests. It really works on tightening up under your chin, which might help you some in feminizing the jawline area.

All that said, I think you might be surprised at how good you can look right now with the right makeup, attire, and wig. As for the long run, I don't think you'll have many problems feminizing your face.

Ok, I suppose it's my turn. I had an awesome experience last month in which I got a makeover and went out to a bar/night club with several other trans women. It was my first time fully made up and out in public. After the makeover I knew I had to see what kind of results I could produce on my own. Below are some of my pictures from the makeover and from my first attempt at doing my own makeup:

From the makeover

My first makeup attempt a few days later (Also got a wig that I liked much better than the one used in the makeover).

I'm 37 years old and obviously not on HRT yet, but I plan to start in a few months. What do you all think?

I think you'll have a really good outcome physically, eventually a little trach shave will do. Kind of pretty face and beautiful smile!

I think you have beautiful (green) eyes which are very striking.  Your facial features would easily be feminized with HRT.  (But if you can - consider FFS as our bodies do change as we age) and our beauty and facial features don't stay with us.  I was a fashion model in my early twenties, so hopefully I'm talking with some authority. ;)

You might think this question is a bit ridiculous but I'm seriously wondering, are you Mtf or Ftm? Your hair is short and your face is pretty androgynous, but your expressions make you look more feminine. I think you could pass for either male or female, depending on which you're transitioning to.

Btw, I know this is the Mtf section of the forum, so I'm guessing you're Mtf? If not, there's a couple of other threads in the Ftm section you could try posting in. I'm not sure if there's one that's "Could I pass one day?" but I know there's one that's "Do I pass? (right now)". So, check those out if that applies to you. :)

But seriously, you're really lucky to look that androgynous already!

I really like the second picture, I agree that the wig really brings it all together and frames your face well!  Plus, you have an infectious smile so that helps!

umm QT alert!

You're going to pass just fine. I don't see any issues. The white hair pics are especially good because of your expressions as kyh mentioned.

HRT will take some of the bulk out of your neck, which will do wonders for the feminine features you already possess like lips, eyes, and jawline. Your eyes are deep set, but that hasn't stopped people from passing (speaking from experience ;)). I just hope we get to see photos with some smiles later on :D

Yes, definitely some butch lesbian feeling going on in the pics with white hair (which is better than masculine man right?). So they made me question whether she was a Ftm transitioner who previously identified as a butch lesbian hahaha
