Last night we had a family meeting and talked about what we wanted to happen in 2013 and expectations we had. I told my parents previously I was transgender and they weren't really accepting. I told my parents again about how I felt and I was shocked about how accepting and open-minded they were. Before I could only dream about parents like this. My mom seemed to be very understanding even though she doesn't know much about being transgender. She wants to learn more so today I'm going to give her some links to a couple of websites. My parents are Christian and what surprised me again was that they were supportive of gay people and admitted that the bible has faults. Last night felt like a dream. They told me I didn't have to feel alone anymore and said I had a right to be happy. So hopefully in 2013 I'll be able to start T.

That's awesome man! Here's to a new year and a new you.
(Yeah, that was purposefully cheesy. Just slap it on a hallmark card already   ;D)

Seriously though, great to hear it. Always happy to see someone's family being supportive and caring- that's unconditional love right there for you, especially considering that they're Christian. Religion seems to make it all the harder for some folks to see past the confusion.

Wow, this is awesome! While I don't know you it makes me very happy to hear of a someone's family being on board with helping their relative get what they need in life.

A new year and new you.  Great news!

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me
