Who Would You Choose?

This question is for Christians.
It is to get them to consider their soul and salvation deeper.

Who would you choose to lead your spiritual life?

The person led of the Spirit of God?

The one who cares enough to go against everything and everyone to feed a flock and see to it they have that which is necessary to save their soul.

The person that will tell you what you want to hear?

The one that will male you feel good and couldn't care less if you go to hell.

Just something to think about.

May God bless.

That's who I followed in the past, and who I will continue to follow.

Nice question BTW.  ;D

With respect Del, this is what Jesus taught, not who we should listen to.

The rules are simple. They don't requite anything really, even an arthist could follow these.

This is the colloquial version:

1 Don't worship any other god
2 Don't worship any idol
3 Don't abuse the name of God
4 Rest one day in seven
5 Honor your father and mother
6 Don't kill
7 Don't commit adultery
8 Don't steal
9 Don't lie about other people
10 Don't covet others goods or relationships.

But Jesus also said these

John 3
10 "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[e] 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[f] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him."[g]

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

John 3

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them.

John 5

24 "Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

John 6

28 Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"

29 Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day."

John 11

25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

John 12

35 Then Jesus told them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. 36 Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light." When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them

John 8

12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

John 12

4 Then Jesus cried out, "Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. 45 The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

Jesus says to believe in Him also.
Answers are easy. It's asking the right questions which is hard.

Be positive in the fact that there is always one person in a worse situation then you.

Actually when it comes to ministry the Lord told his disciples as his Father sent him so sends he them.
Peter was called by Cornelius and sent by the Spirit.
Philip the evangelist was sent by the Spirit to the eunuch.
Paul and Barnabas were sent.
Aquilla and Priscilla had a church in their house.
The list goes on with those who were faithful.
All of these had the same sound doctine. No divisions or differences as the church in Corinth.
These later day ministries have twisted the word and no longer have sound doctrine.
Most cannot truly be sent of God as they all speak something different and many go against the words of Christ.
We are all to be in a unity of the faith believing an speaking the same thing.
He gave some apostles and some prophets and some pastors and teachers for the unity of the faith, the perfecting of the saints and the edifying of the flock.
Those chosen to carry the word and minister were the type that were led of the Spirit and were willing to go against anything and anybody that opposed them to the point of laying down their lives.
This world was not worthy and they were unlearned, diligent and faithful.

I have no idea what point you're trying to make Sarah #5

Del.

That's wonderful. But kinda misses the point.

I'm not a Christian.

I have nothing against Christians.

In fact the first two men who raped me were Christian's, so it must be a good club to be in. Both Christian Brothers. Different times, but same belief. Good Men, prayed a lot. Got forgiveness for their sins, no doubt, confession is good for the soul, so I am told. Geex there must be some perverts doing Hi fives for their confessions.

Sort of like the Lance Armstrong's of religion.

I'm so so happy that they found a god/book/spirit/ fantasy to allow them to be understood and be forgiven.

Who to follow?

Interesting Dell.

The fantasy or the reality?
I have long given up the spirituality.

I think you have none.

Your posts and at least the belief you post is archaic and I think trivial.

Your belief appears centralised to a book that is so lost in translation as to be open to any interpretation that anyone wishes. I'm sorry for you.

But I also remember a very old cartoon. Ludwig maybe?

People came across a person worshipping inside a cardboard box. Ha, said the bully, I will destroy your cardboard box - so there- your gods have gone!. The person still worshipped without the cardboard box.

It means I understand, but I have not a clue what you understand. And I expect the same respect.

And I will defend peoples rights to do so.

But I'm me and I walk a line.

Everyone has equal rights.

Like Gandhi said about the proselytizing Christians: " "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

Why is that? Well, because of their perverted belief that hey and only they have the right interpretation of the Bible. Once they are convinced of their self righteousness they will stop at nothing to shove their "truth" down your throat.

They do not get it that even if all this scriptures were divinely inspired they were written by men with their own agenda, limited by the ignorance of their times, and hindered by the inaccuracy of their  languages.

Yet, anyway you may choose to interpret, the message of Jesus is loud and clear and simple, and by not choosing to abide by it and hide in interpretations of passages with little or none relevance to Jesus message you turn, in my opinion, to be a traitor to Jesus.

Note that this post is not directed to anyone specifically

Let me just propose something to you Del, I am Transgender and Intersex and Lesbian and Christian. All i can do is tell you that I am not possessed by demons nor oppressed by them, nor seeking to turn away from Christ and deny him before men. You can either have faith that I am not evil and part of some secret agenda or am part of the anti christ, or get to know me and see I have the first fruits of the Holy Spirit. The Choice is Thine.

The point I am making is that this mess that is called Christianity is not the Christianity of the early church.

They have embraced seminary and Christian colleges and done away with the Spirit of God. Everything is twisted through man's knowledge to where only partial truth is ever told. Sadly partial truth will not save one's soul. As written he will judge the world in righteousness and his people in truth. In other words he will judge the world by if they believe but his people by what they believe.

The early ministers were those who were led of the Spirit and not schooling. They were willing to risk their very lives for the flock of God. They would come against anything or anybody to preach and teach the truth. They could not be bought off nor sought fame. They were ignorant and unlearned people and never attended colleges. The only exception being Paul who was a pharisee and revealed the spiritual things of the laws and prophets unto the Gentiles.

The prophets of old were either foretold of their childhood calling and anointed by God or were chosen by anointed men while laboring or living a common lifestyle. Elisha for example was following twelve yolk of oxen. A common man laboring.

The things that all have spoken above are the things I was getting at. The truth of the gospel has been replaced by that whch pleases men. Whatever they want. It will not save their soul. Even messengers of satan can feign themselves righteous as written but they don't love the flock of God enough to be diligent and follow the examples of those called before.

The word of God is very clear in that neither Jesus Christ nor the word of God will change and is applicable yesterday, today and forever. The Lord showed John on the isle of Patmos what would happen and it cannot be changed. All things will happen just as written. Even deceivers that don't believe in the word of God and lead people to hell.

The question of who would you choose is very simple. The Son of God and the people he chooses or the devil and his messengers who twist scripture and lead contrary to the word of God and the words of Jesus Christ?

As written, not he that commendeth himself is approved but whom the Lord commendeth.

That alone shows that there will be false prophets and messengers of the flesh and of satan.

Shawn,
I have never said anyone here was demon possessed or whatever. That is not my place. Only one person has the right to judge. The Shiloh of God, Jesus Christ.

Cindy,
You aren't the first person to say they feel sorry for me and believe that I have nothing. I've been told far worse, such as not fit to live and such. I take no offense. That is your right to your view and I understand it.
Schooling is great for carnal forms of employment but useless for the spiritual thingof God. After all, you wouldn't want a janitor like me trying to help your patients. That would be the same disaster as those not called, anoited nor led of the Holy Ghost pastoring or evangelizing a flock of God. The only difference being the flock having an eternal destruction rather than the temporary one the janitor would bring about.

May God bless.
