Hormones help everyone, to some degree or another, and honestly, I can't really tell if you need FFS or not. I'm going to suggest that you lose weight if you want to look pretty, and I'll also suggest that you lose the hair. I'm not sure if it's a wig, or something added with a program, but it looks distinctly unnatural.

Preferably squint less, too, when you take shots like these. Closed eyes really take away from a face.

Your hair actually looks rather nice if you forget the fact that it should, and doesn't, hide your sadly enlarged forehead. For now until you do something irreversible (well, irreversible in short term) to your hair, you could try to see how it looks if you try to sweep some hair across it. It might look better or just horrible; can't tell. Also, you could look into hats. Surely there's some sort of hat that's fashionable right now.

Now, to comment the comparison... I wouldn't say you're closer to passing (sadly), but I certainly would say that you look healthier. It might just be the smile VS the "I'm about to die" look on the earlier picture, but still.

Also, you really need a better camera. The awkward pixels make your nose look like it's been severely burn or something, haha.

Really, I am not an expert in photography nor in in beauty. 

You have a very nice smile    But whether it's the smile or excess light that is causing you to squint, it detracts from the photo.  Eyes speak volumes ... I would love to see another picture with a bit less direct lighting and your eyes open.

I am barely starting hrt, but it does tend to help everyone at least a little

Thank you for your input.  As I stated in earlier posts, I am aware that my hairline will be a difficult hurdle to cross.  I do apologize that I do not take my SLR to my counselor for better pics while bored  LOL

you pass! or at least you will with the right hairstyle.  Are you on HRT yet? if yes: its working.  if not then you lucked out facially, your face looks very feminine to me.
