Homo is cuter?

I noticed this just now: I find love between boys, and love between girls, cuter than heterosexual love.

I was watching an anime where a guy is being courted by four girls (Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru, or OreShura for short), and in today's episode, there was for the first time a clue that a male friend of the main character's is maybe in love with him, and immediately, I found it really cute, more so than the large amount of "love" content in the series so far.

It also reminded me of another series, Shin Sekai Yori (this ongoing series is one of the very best I've ever seen, by the way!), in which I found the love between girls much cuter than the love between a girl and a boy. I first attributed it to the anime depicting romantic and cute things I'd have loved to do with my girlfriend at the time.

I'm really wondering why. Could it be because my first and only relationship, which I've still not completely gotten over, was with another girl? Or could it be because homosexual relationships are more of a rare sight (partly because there are less of them, mostly because they tend to want to be more discreet)?

Also, do y'all have such hard to explain preferences for fawning over love?

Well I feel completely the opposite lol. That's not to say that homosexual love can't be beautiful, it can and often is.

I am always more engaged in same-sex relationships in stories, than in hetero ones. Probs because I'm gay, so I feel a connection that I just can't otherwise. It's less strong with gay guys, but still more than my general apathy towards most hetero relationships.

Edit: Though like apparently people think me and my girlfriend together are painfully adorable even if they are straight? So maybe it's partly just a "gays are unusual" thing like you said?

I feel like they're cuter because they're not procreation driven.

Practicality dominates me. I can be a bit harsh, but I mean well.

I feel like love is love, no matter who it is. Granted, I can pretty much fall in love with anyone if I am attracted to the person in some way, so I may be a little biased :). My experience with anime though is everything (especially romantic) is geared to be very cute or have that appeal to be attractive. But applying to real life, love can great, cute, sad, ugly and so on.
Watching the birds made me feel like taking a journey. The people, the landscapes, everything was imperfect but beautiful.

I do find homosexual love very cute, but I say this as an outsider, because I'm straight.

I remember walking to my apartment, I saw this couple of the same sex... the cute black guy was clinging onto the arm of his boyfriend carrying an umbrella. They were talking in French to each other and just casually strolling down my street.

I found that so adorable!  :icon_clap: I really hope we get more and more queer couples comfortable to express their affections in the Canadian public!

Some couples (gay or straight) are cute...others make me wonder "WTF?"

The aspects I look for (when I am looking, not always) are trust, joy, and interest.

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

They're not breeders, eh?  ::)

My ex and I got married not because of any children we might have (first one was 2 years into it), but because we loved each other.

Ewwww, hetero couples.  :P

Seriously though, I never really think of other couples as being 'cute' or 'not cute'. IDK, I've just never had much of an opinion on other people's relationships.

I have never thought about it... I don't suppose that I would see one type of love as being cuter than another.

To be honest, I cannot recall ever having seen a same-sex couple together.
I ain't scared... I just don't want to mess up my hair.

Angela???

For me, I love seeing people gay, straight or what ever thier sexual preference is, showing thier love to each other.
I really like seeing old people walking down the street holding hands and showing thier afection. It's nice to see they still have love for each other, after so any years together. ( prob. with my parents is they might as well live apart as they do very little together, and show NO affection towards each other at all!)

I walk down the street holding hands with my wife, I cuddle and kiss her in public and I don't worry about what others think.
I love her dearly, she means the world to me!
I'm a girl, I always knew!
Now it's time to stop hidding and show the world who I really am!

I've been in my relationship for 12 years!!!! We aren't married and don't have any kids. We didn't get together and stay together because we were driven by "procreation" lol. What nonsense.

I think the cutest couples are little old people who still love and adore each other.

Old couples... Hmm... I find those charming and romantic, but I have trouble finding them "cute", because of their age.

Yes, that can be a little off-putting...but next time, look in their eyes, their body language...you'll see their youth, as they do...again.

I'm such a romantic.  ;)

I feel the same way, I'm pretty sure it's just because I'm gay so I can relate more.

This was very confusing in my past life, I didn't understand how I could be "straight" while pining for a gay relationship :D

I also love seeing old couples who are still in love after decades together, I hope my partner and I will be one of those couples some day =3

In real life, people are people and relationships are only as cute as the people in them. But I also tend to not be as engaged in het couples when it comes to anime. I have a few that I like, but I always end up liking the yuri pairings. I support yaoi pairings too, but usually those pairings are given more graphic scenes which I tend to stay away from. Not exactly my thing  :P I think a lot of it comes from the fact that I really got into anime when I still thought of myself as a lesbian, so I naturally was all over the shoujo ai scene, and I still follow it.

Irl I think all couples are cool, but I guess I just feel more moved by seeing gay couples out in public, like I feel so automatically supportive just because I know how much harder it is than for het couples.

The old couple from Up is still the the most heartwarming couple ever. Old people ftw    :P

(Also I love Shin Sekai Yori and I've always liked Saki/Maria  ;D )

So far, the general opinion is that it's because I can relate to it more, having only had a homosexual relationship, hmm?

And!
