So I got a bunch of savings bonds, and I'm guessing I may get a few checks this year for my birthday from distant family members. The problem is that I changed my name. The name on the bonds and the names that would appear on the checks (since most of my family doesn't know) would be my old name. Will I have any difficulty cashing these in?

I'm finding a lot of places I go to, when I tell them I changed my name they ask me, "what was your maiden name?"
And I'm like, well I changed my first name too, and then they're all like, "why would you do that?!?!" (Like I've done something wrong. lol)

Interesting side note....did you know that if you have a Playstation 3, or are on the playstation network that you cannot change your gender on your account. Odd fact but true!

I don't know about savings bonds, but with checks you just sign them and deposit them into your account.  Banks generally don't care who deposits into any account, but only the account owners can withdrawal funds.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me
