OK SO. These are not the best pictures, and the first one I already posted, but this is for the sake of comparison. The first one is from about a month and a half ago - at 2.5 months on T - and the second is from about ten minutes ago, at nearly 4 months on T. I'm passing pretty consistently as far as I can tell, but you guys are probably more observant than my Oklahoman neighbors.

Your skin looks a little less soft and your chin looks a bit longer, looking good.

You can see a HUGE difference in your face shape, that's amazing! And on 4 months of T? Dang!
I'd say you pass pretty well. MUCH more than the before shot (which also passes pretty well, IMO). With that face shape, I wouldn't doubt you if I passed you on the street. Love that you're wearing a Pokemon shirt, BTWs. You get extra points in my book just for that.

I would have to hear you speak to decide if you pass or not yet. This is a tough one for me.

Regardless, I can see a change in your facial structure. Your skin texture still looks pretty soft to me though, more than the average male's would.

democration - The changes around the jaw jumped out at me, too.  That's pretty impressive.  Nice pokemon shirt!

Nygeel - That haircut really works for you!

LearnedHand - Thanks! (Your assessment matches my own view of myself.)

Liminal Stranger - Thanks! I'm not surprised that you passed to a dean at school.

AlexanderC - Thanks!  I did pass to some people yesterday!

Sidenote: I noticed something about passing/not passing in the place that I live.  I live around a lot of people who immigrated from other countries (like most of the world really, but I guess the biggest populations are from India, China, Vietnam, and Iran) and they typically view me as a man, which I greatly appreciate.  ;D  Americans tend to think I'm female.  :(

Jay - I think you pass to me, that's a pretty big difference since you were a while ago.  I stand by my statement that you're going to end up a as a Clive Dunn look alike though.  If there was one thing that I could put my finger on that suggested you didn't pass, it would be that you've got too much hair for a man of your age, but hold onto it while you've got it!

Thanks Alex. (and LH) Well of course, not all men lose their hair. My dad had a gorgeous head of very white (I didn't get his hair color) hair until he died. But facial hair that's something else. It's very odd not to have any, esp in an Anglo. Given the diverse cultural heritage in my state I could just have Native blood. Clive Dunn is handsome.

You look like a fit young man in board shorts. Your chest looks great too. Things seem to be going well for you bro, good for you!! :)

Thanks guys!! I think I look a bit my dad, which is not at all a bad thing.

Might be my size (5'1"), lack of body hair and no facial hair. At a certain age it would be unusual not to have facial and body hair. Strangely I think that T has masculinized my face before giving me ANY body hair. Might be my age? This is my face pre and post T

Jay, I think you look great and you're proof to a lot of people that you're never to old to be yourself.

Also, some guys actually do lose body/facial hair as they age. Estrogen can actually increase in aging men. I've seen older guys with practically no leg hair and very little facial hair. Either way, I think you look totally male in this new picture.

Am I good with the new hair cut?
Before

Nygeel, I think it makes quite a big difference. Your previous haircut was sort of...I don't know, fluffy isn't the word I mean, but I can't think of anything else at the moment. A lot of trans guys can't pull off a haircut like that, at least not until they're years into transition.

Yeah, my hair has a lot of fluff to it. It's just the way my hair grows, never lays flat, doesn't curl, just poofs. I really don't like my hair this short, but I was pretty sure my hair was thinning and decided to try it out.

You pass in my eyes. (Sorry, guys, I hope you don't mind a gal poking her nose in) Might be just because I can only see your head, though. Still, based on the head, sure.
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

Hey thanks Inside! I really feel good and much more comfortable in my skin. Btw, your comments on hair loss are all true and also might explain why I have hair on my head (for now anyway). Body and facial hair are controlled by different types of hair follicles. And it is true that after 50 some guys (as well as women) lose body hair. Seems to be debatable whether or not T can help it grow or not.

@Joey-- I think "feathery hair" (for lack of a better description) can look a little feminine. I have this and it can drive me nuts, esp after I wash it. Hair gel to the rescue. :)

Joey, I agree with Aleon that a bit of hair gel or pomade would probably look more masculine, since most ladies with short hair don't gel it (unless it's spiked or otherwise styled) while it seems like a lot of men put something in it, even if it's not really in any particular style.

Been a guy most of my life and Joey passes. Joey your hair looks fine just as it is, no pomade or any of that ->-bleeped-<- is necessary. Wish my hair was as thick, nice going my friend!
  •

Jared

Joey, I aggree with Shantel, your hair is fine. BUT spikey hair masculinizes more the face, that's why I'll get a haircut soon...
But until that, do I pass with my new glasses? I'm a bit worried about it.

Jared, don't waste your time worrying about it, you look good in those glasses, there's nothing femmy about them!
