I swore that I would never post a picture of myself online but I've been particularly self conscious lately and decided to just go ahead and do it. I tried to use a picture I dont think I pass very well in so here goes nothing. Tips? Criticisms?

PASS! Tim I don't think anyone would think twice, including myself. You've got a strong jaw, good shoulders, good amount of muscle.  I think I even see some facial hair. Basically you're a hottie :P Nothing to worry about!

@Markus those kids you went to school with can kick rocks and blow bubbles! You look great and I hope you feel better :)

This is me. I am aware I need to fix my hair a little, and lose some weight to pass better. But I am still only out to a small handful of people. How do I pass so far?

You pass to me.  I think the hair played a big part in it too.

Thanks Malachite :) By "the hair played a big part in it too", do you mean my hairstyle helps me pass?

I think you do pass. I think a lot of the time it comes down to voice, if your voice is more masculine than feminine i wouldn't give it much thought about your gender.

You also have a pretty solid frame, with T i reckon you could develop an impressive body if that's what you wanted :)

Thankyou, for a biological female I think I have quite a broad shouldered, stocky build. It's great! I did 7 years of taekwondo so I used to be quite muscly, but I am happy with how stocky built I am :D

Yeah Jacob, you have a real guy's type build alright, no doubt about it!

Damn Jacob, you look SO familiar somehow.

You don't really pass to me tbh though...there's something that I can't quite put my finger on. I think part of it is your stance and expression - it's a bit unassuming and gentle. Which there is nothing wrong with, in fact, that's how I present myself - but it does give off a bit of a "feminine" vibe.  And as all of us are pre-transition, you have a softer face. But you have things in your favour. The others are right though, you do have a good build on you which will work in your favour. The hair works too, better than short hair would on your face (at least as I can imagine it), but I would try to make sure you keep it "shaggier" if you have it long so it doesn't get too pretty lol.

Thanks again everyone! <3

Jacob: I'm with Caleb on this, I think a lot has to do with your stance and expression. If you looked more confident (and you should, because you look like a nice sized guy) I'd be much quicker to think male immediately. Also think a haircut would help-just a trim though.

Thanks, I usually am quite masculine with how I walk, sit etc. This photo was when I first put my binder on and I was a little camera shy. But I will definately work on my stance. Also, I just had a haircut and am waiting for it to grow a bit shaggier. I am so lucky I have such a masculine build :D Thanks everyone

To me you pass, maybe not 100% but you do pass. If I saw you down the street, I would assume you were a guy :) But it also depends on your body frame (cant really see it), height, mannerisms etc :)

Damien -

It is really difficult to give you advice with the angles you provided. A shorter haircut might help. Can you post some pictures from a normal angle?

After seeing such amazing passes here, I thought I would see about giving it a shot. I have just recently come out to myself, so I am pretty much pre everything xD

I know I am far from passing, but any tips?

Uh huh... cut Your hair, the hat goes straight to the dustbin and drop that sad expression! Look straight into camera! Be bold and brave as lion - feel it! :)

And @ mynameisjacob
Wow - that is some frame You have there! Your shoulders are wider than I ever had (and I used to wear male L size clothes solely because of them).

Thanks Emily! I think I will soon! And then I shall post the results! But that hat, even for how ugly it is... Holds a rather special place with me xD

Alright! I cut my hair, just maybe twenty minutes ago or so. I am not a professional, just come from a long line of hairdressers so I know a thing or two. Also know, I don't look good with too short hair. I have done that before, and it does not suit me much. But! Here is me in all my sillyness. Dropped the sad expression and smiled!

And yes ._. I love my hoody xD

You look really cool Dalex ;D I can't say for sure if I think you'd entirely pass, but yeah, you look awesome nevertheless.

Thanks Caleb. You have no idea how much it means to hear that. But, since I am not completely out, I am taking one step at a time hoping to maybe ease the news in. *crosses fingers*
