As you can tell I don't generally pass but I was wondering what everyone thinks?

I agree with others that your face is quite masculine. The hoodie threw me off though - red/pink with love hearts isn't a traditionally manly look. I also agree that replacing the glasses with some squarer frames might help.

Mr.X

Thanks for the feedback, guys. It is good to know that I do sound male/andro to some people. I must say that today another customer called me a lady, so that's three. No sirs yet and the other customers just didn't refer to me with a genderpronoun thingy, so I don't know what they were thinking. I do notice that it's dragging me down a little. The past few weeks have been so great and I felt so good until this happened.

QuoteNo doubt your phone voice is probably much higher, and fluctuates even more than your regular voice. You may just have to practice because your voice may not drop much more. Yes, changes in the voice happen for over a year, but most of us have the most dramatic changes within 8 months.

I think you are right. I do notice I speak more controlled, softer and a little higher with customers in order to sound friendly. Maybe this is the problem. I do really hope that I get more voice drops because I clearly need it...Do voice drops really mainly happen in the first 8 months? So I can not expect much chance from now on? I would be really sad if this is it.

You sound male for certain to me, Mr. X.  I think your "friendly phone voice", theory is a good one as to why they might think you are female.

Check out some forums around here to see the timelines guys give for their voice changes. From my own personal experience and what I've seen from others, after 8 months or so it has pretty much stopped dropping. After that it kind of just levels out. I would guess that you definitely have more changes to look forward to, but I think your issue can be resolved with practice and possibly listening to how guys at your job speak on the phone.

Voices are different for everyone. I'm fairly sure mine has reached around the level it'll stay. It's pretty damn low and lower than a lot of guys I know!  Lol. But if I'm shouting I still fear it cracking even though it's been a while.

Wingding, you don't quite pass to me, but I defo see the potential. I think it's a combination of the glasses and hair. I'm assuming that's dyed that way, yeah? Either that or the light is over emphasising ginger, which I've seen happen with friends' pics! Lol. I don't see many guys outside of more Asian (and in the west, more effeminate) looks that have hair dyed to more shocking colours and therefore is more something I associate with girls. And when it's short; lesbians.

I know I don't generally pass, get called "Ma'am" and "lady" all the time, but I wanted to put up some photos.

1. Eyebrows. They are kinda weird color for a guy and the shape is off too.
2. Color of clothing in the third pic and kittie T-shirt. It is like... guys do wear green, but lime green is not the usual color of choice. Try going for darker shades of green, like moss green, olive, forest green. But... pink cell phone? Seriously?
3. Your accessories in the second pic send a wrong vibe either.
In general, Your best effort was in the first picture, but in all of them I am getting that "lesbian" vibe (especially the shirt pattern in the second pic - it almost screams it - seen it many times before, dear...)... and "lesbian" means "not a guy".

The thing that read female to me the most is face shape, too much baby fat, not enough chin.

randomdude5

The thing I find the most feminising is the eyebrows, like ♡ Emily ♡ mentioned... I don't know if you shape them, but they look too perfect lol.
  •

Kytri

I actually draw the eyebrows in, it's either that or not have them at all, and I'd rather have eyebrows. :| I could make them chunkier I guess?

Clothes are sort of a problem for me because I like accessories, and I like bright colors and patterns and cute things. I don't want to have to give them up. The phone I would like to replace, it was a gift from my parents, but I don't have the spare money right now.

And I'm not sure what I can do about my face shape. I wouldn't have chosen it if I'd had the choice.

Guh, I shouldn't have bothered posting anything at all. I'm sorry :(

Hey, Kytri, cheer up :) Phone is not such a big issue and You can always replace only the cover. Do You intend to start T injections? That would address the facial shape. If I am not mistaken - we have somehow similar facial features - at least jawline, chin and overall shape. And You know what? With the same features + extra facial muscles You will pass. I know this, because I did (well, I was born that way, but I had very narrow face until it got muscle definition). Btw - one very useful tip is to chew chewing gum - in the longterm it builds up jaw muscle definition and gives more squarer look. Or anything else, which tenses Your facial muscles.

Kytri

I'm hoping to start T injections eventually. I'm waiting for my therapist to sign off on it before I spend a bunch of money to go see an endocrinologist. I want to be sure they won't turn me away.
  •

Sammy

Kytri, I am sure You will be fine! :). Apart of extensive cardio programme there are not much options to reduce Your facial fat until You start T, but that does not mean You cannot masculinise Your face by building up muscles. And practising a stern gaze ;)
  •

Kytri

It's funny you say that because people are always telling me I look really mean.

I will try the gum thing though. I do chew gum pretty often but generally not until my jaw is sore.

For the eyebrows, I don't think they need to be thicker or anything, I just think they look too solid and almost cartoon-like. Do you have either a thin eyebrow pencil or a smaller brush, where you could draw them in one "hair" at a time instead of all in one solid shape? That should give them a more feathered, natural look. It's funny, I NEVER wore makeup as a girl but lately I've been thickening my eyebrows up any time I'm binding and trying to pass. I just take more care with my appearance as a guy.

Be weird. Be random. Be who you are. Because you never know who would love the person you hide.

Hey guys. Haven't posted in a while but things are going great for me. If all goes well, I should be living 100% as male and have my name changed come January. I'm about 4.5 months on T. What do you think?

Looking great man. I've been seeing you on here for the past few years and I'm happy you're on T now :)
