So if some of you remember I switched from Premarin to Estradiol a couple months ago after being told by numerous people that it was the better choice. They said it was much more affective and cheaper. I had great results with the Premarin so I was sort of reluctant to switch but I did anyways out of curiosity.

Well it turns out that was a mistake.

After the fist few days on estradiol my breasts stopped hurting. This was the first warning sign. I freaked out a little but decided to continue hoping that my body was just adjusting. After several weeks though I noticed my body slowly losing progress that I had made. My face and body fat started to becoming more male, I lost some breast size, my hair became courser, ect. After the 6th week I had a panic attack and went back on the Premarin. Luckily I had a bottle of it sitting around having refilled it right before stopping.

Over the course of the next few days my changes came back and my breasts actually grew a little. After an emergency endo appointment I got a new Premarin prescription and though it's expensive, it's a huge relief to be back on track. I told the endo why I had switched and he said the most of the fears were unfounded.

My lesson from this would be that different things work for different people. If one form of hormones isn't working well than try another.
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

Do you know if the estradiol led to lower estrogen levels? Or was it some other mysterious aspect of that particular pill causing the regression?
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

No idea

All I know is when I was taking it my changes were stopping or reversing.

I'm reluctant now to try anything else.

Interesting. I'm really glad you're back on track and maybe I'll talk to the clinic about Premarin. I have heard it is more potent and this is evidence of that.

Cross-referencing to another thread, where a woman says she had poor results with premarin.

Here's the thread.

Just shows, what works for one doesn't work for another.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...
