Time for new bras...

Hey all,

So I have the super uber add-a-cup bras that I can just barely get away with even with two layers over them, and the old utilitarian seemless cup underwires.  The old bras are still functional but they don't fit as well as they used to, so I'm embarking on a massive bra hunt.  I'm just looking for everyday wear bras, I just ordered 8 different kinds from JCP because they don't carry my size in their store... when they get here I'll try them on and send back the ones that don't fit.

I'm hoping I'll achieve bra nirvana, you know that moment where you find the perfect, comfortable bra that seems to be made *just* for you?  And then you proceed to order 15 more of them just in case the company decides to discontinue that model.

The one I wear now, that workhorse comfort bra who stays on me 23 hours a day, 7 days a week is no longer available.  Good thing I have 15 of them but they're showing their age so time to look for new blood.

Hi Fresca,
I noted your male/male personal designation so if I step on your toes feel free to smack me up beside the head. You didn't tell me much but you might check out the bra in the thread at the bottom of my post. It's a Rhonds Schear Aah Cutie racerback. The nice thing about them is that they are extremely comfortable and smoosh things out a bit and fit really flat so that they don't show any sign of straps under a T-shirt. If you need to compress you can wear two and they breathe well. I present androgynously and don't want to have points and jiggle, these are the hot set-up.

Cool, love your designation, Non-binary Transdrogenous...

Yeah I live as a man, dress partially as a man, partially as a woman, for the first half of my life I cared deeply that no one find out I wear bras, but I find I don't so much care anymore... so I'm wearing them with just a t-shirt, but I throw a button down on top of that for work to keep a professional and comfortable work environment.   My designation as Male/Male+ means I'd like to go the HRT route to develop larger more feminine breasts, but that's as far as I'd go, I would still live as a man, just... a man with breasts.

Well no bra Nirvana, the only one that fit was the new version of the same bra that I've been wearing for over a decade.  I sent back all but the one style, yet they were all the same size, same manufacturer.  Go figure.  The sad part is this new version isn't even available in pink anymore, so I guess it's back to white utilitarian bras for me.

I went to the gym today with the new bra, I have to work it in somehow... but yeah I think I might have creeped a few people out, it's clearly visible through my workout shirt and makes a distracting breast mound type situation... but am I there for them or for myself?  I got a good workout, and my bra is a little more adapted to my body.

So disappointed I didn't find a more comfortable bra... I ordered every style they had in my size.

Guess you will have to get over it and make due and so will they. What do you think is the problem of finding a bra, are you too big or too small? I'm sure there is something out there that will work for you.

Dietfresca,

Just thought i'd give you a heads up in case you hadn't seen the site herroom.com , they have sizes that are small to VERY well endowed women(like 48f and up). Anyway, the awesome thing about it, is that they carry really cute and pretty printed bras even in the larger sizes(so not just the everyday white/black options!). Hope this helps & good luck on your bra search.
People are people, treat everyone with the same respect and courtesy that you want to receive.

I really sympathize with your plight.  Lands end used to make a really great soft cup bra with convertible straps.  in 38A it fit my frame perfectly, and at the time I was wearing Amona size 4 651 breast forms, with fit perfectly.  Luckly, I bout several extra as the discontinued their "best selling" bra and all lingerie within a year. .

Only had one other bra style that I really liked and it was a warner 2516 (totally different from the current model) which also was a soft cup with convertible straps.  Unfortunatly, it was made in the early 80's and has not been made for years. ..

As someone above said, when you find one you like, buy several as they will change styles. .

My big issue, especially with forms is the "molded cup" and anything padded.  . .It is as if they were bullet proof.  I like to feel my forms bounce a bit and like to reach under my shirt and feel the softness of the matter. . . with the lands end bra and forms, even my wife agreed, the felt VERY lifelike.  The formed cups do not feel real or allow for any bounce.

I keep hoping for the non formed cup styles to come back in vogue!

Yeah, the best fitting bra I've found since then is a pretty cheap bra from Walmart, it's the Playtex Sexy Fit t-shirt bra and I bought one in every color once I saw it was a great fit.

Only trouble is, these are really good at enhancing and showing off your breasts, they're meant to be worn under a t-shirt so they're super flattering to one's breasts as far as how it shapes you and increases your breast size by at least one cup.  So what though, right?  All the better to feel feminine.  Which is true, I do love how feminine they make me look but there's no playing this one off... you can't just grab your thickest, darkest shirt and expect to go out in public with no one noticing... these bras are meant to turn heads and even though I'm a guy, it still turns heads.  It gives me a huge breast mound that everyone stares at so I've stopped trying to hide it.

I just wear a white t-shirt over it, whether people are staring at a huge breast mound on a guy or at his clearly visible bra under his t-shirt, not much difference.

Again, my favorite vendor is HerRoom. Go there, you won't be disappointed. I am a loyal HerRoom customer. http://www.herroom.com/timpa-16449-duet-lace-underwire-demi-bra.shtml
who want us to look our best. Granted, yes, retailers just want to make a sale.
I just wanted this as an opportunity to thank both Victoria's Secret and
HerRoom as my favorite Lingerie on-line retailer.

Count me in on that as well, I purchase predominantly from these two retailers.

It is disappointing to have a favorite and then fir it to get discontinued. I've found the same for my panties too.

Some of the suggestions you girls mentioned sound good. I'm going to check them out.
