Was at the college today and say a guy who was in my NJROTC squad at since. He was a freshman at the time and I was a senior, second in command. I know he saw me walk through but he just kept his eyes to the left like he was looking at something. I never seen someone stare at the walls and doors so hard. I find it a little offensive that he didn't even adknowledge my presence when I tried to get his attention. Strange, I know his girlfriend and she did the exact same thing to me several months ago. It's like wtf I was a great squad leader and I honestly gave them more more wiggle room with dismissing my squad in high school. Now that I think about it. I went to Mcdonalds with my nephew and saw a girl who was also in my squad working there about a month and a half ago. She looked it me and took my order, but it was as if she didn't know me, or knew me but didn't adknowledge it. She looked at me straight in her eyes too so it really wasn't ignoring since at least she did that (compared to the other two that wouldn't), but it was like she had a poker face on.
What the heck? I was a darn good leader and if anything more lenient that the first-in-command....and nearly every other person who ranked chief and up.
I feel like I'm losing me touch even though I've been out of high school for 3 years now. To make me feel better, I'm going to say the guy was respecting me so much that he was giving me an "Eyes Left".
That's right, I still got it.
