It's been a looong time since I regretted buying a game, as I do my utmost best to fully research and seek out information before buying.  Made plenty of blind picks during the PS2 era, so in regards to regrets...Gauntlet:Seven Sorrows...what a POS game, especially after Gauntlet:Dark Legacy (which is perhaps one of my favorites of all time).  With how expensive games can be, I try to really grind down if a game is worth buying or not :p!

There was a Lunar game on DS (Dragon Song, I think). It was soo bad, so many little things that pissed me off. It wasn't fun, first of all, and then, running around on the map consumes mp, which is just a ridiculous concept especially when it doesn't regenerate. Second, You can't pick which enemy you hit, so there's no element of strategy. Oh and armor deteriorates. And it tried having voice commands, but because I played it somewhere noisy, it would just not allow me to do much cuz it kept messing up, and there was no way to turn off the voice commands! There was more too.. but yeh, that was a disappointing experience.

Yup!! That's the one that came to mind for this thread for sure.

I'm sure there's other games, but can't think of others right now.

Lost planet 3.

OMG, This game was a polished poo!!

I played LP1 every day online for 4 yrs and me and my friends were almost unbeatable
I played LP2 co-op daily for about 2 yrs
I barely got halfway through LP3, it sucked and killed a great game series by forgetting what made the series fun and trying to be a Gears of war clone

Max Payne 3. Horrible experience being made to 'socialize', and I also remember having to complete registration and watching the intro in ridiculously low resolution and fps until I could finally change the settings. In the end I got it all to a working state by I felt so raped I actually gave up playing.

I think the last game I bought that I truly regretted buying was Bullet Storm. It looked fun, and it was one of the first games that you had to buy new or pay a fee to play a used version online, and the game was horrible. Single player wasn't bad, but REALLY short, and the multiplayer just wasn't fun. It was 3-4 levels of extreme repetitiveness that got old fast and only 1 game type. I think the good reviews it had was because it would get you a beta copy of Gears of War 3's multiplayer- which I honestly didn't care about.

Amber, I'll take some of the flak away from you as I also hated Destiny, its a tedious grindfest.
Oh great it gave me a new gun, oh hang on I can't use it until I've played x number of multiplayer games, wtf!!
The bounties are just there to replay boring levels over and over again until the boredom makes you question why you bothered to buy a console

Probably just about everything I've purchased on steam during sales as I've not played most of them.  ::)
  •

Luesko

Metal Gear Solid: Rising

I've been expecting too much probably  :-\

StrykerXIII

I bought Skyrim and all three DLCs individually shortly before Legendary Edition came out. Real slap in the face. I hadn't heard any news of a GotY version, like its predecessors got, so when Gamestop offered a super deal on the PC versions, I jumped on it...and then here comes LE and I'm like SERIOUSLY!?

Oh, and then for Christmas that same year I was given the entire Elder Scrolls Anthology  :icon_userfriendly: so I spent all that money on the PC version of the base game and DLCs only to turn around and get them in the Anthology
To strive to reach the apex of evolution is folly, for to achieve the pinnacle is to birth a god.

When the Stryker fires, all turn to dust in its wake.

The games I regret are on Steam.. Some of them are still in early development but as of the current state I regret them..

Ark [Survival MMO 70 people per server]- Too slow even on low settings (guess my computer doesn't handle it well), and the people are mean as hell if you play online. I rage quit the other night because some dude acted like he was going to help me and then killed me :(. I just told him he was an ass and he was like welcome to the world. So I was like alright have fun with my junk and quit. It's fun by yourself but it gets boring after awhile. It needs more places you can go to besides the one island. The dinosaurs on the other hand are SCARY as hell sometimes. I think once I can play it like a normal person on better settings and they add more stuff, I won't regret it.

7 Days to Die [Survival "Horror" MMO]- Again another game that's slow. Not many people on to play with. Graphics are meh, nothing special. Gets you a little creeped out though.

Goat Simulator [Open World Goatness]- This game was pretty fun for a bit but then after going around and doing most of it I got bored quick. There are only two levels from what I saw and that was it.

TERA [MMORPG]- I was into this game for about a week or two until I got to level 30, I didn't want to group up (I feel more accomplished by myself) and the community is just a bunch of perverts looking for ERP, or talking about really nasty fetishes, OR they are just a bunch of kids that say ignorant things to piss people off. At 30 every quest seemed to involve killing elite enemies and I just don't have the skills or the patience for it. Character customization was really stupid too. I also really hated the fighting style.. The combos and stuff were really cool but I felt like I had no control over it.  This game is free to play but I feel like they try making you buy crap. I regret DOWNLOADING it.. I'd rather have my two weeks of life back :p

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

Serenation

i got to 60 in tera just before the expansion drops, that game is just too painful without a subscription.

Game I regret is cubeworld , the dev vanished right after I bought don't think he did a single update
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Playstation 2 was my most anticipated game of 2005.  Unfortunately it lacked the instant action single player mode (I prefer single player over online) that all the previously released battlefield games had at that time and it ended being the worst 50 dollars ever spent.

I don't know about anyone else but I am really jumping around like a child for Fallout 4.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.
