Hi everyone!

This is my first post! I'm about to start hormone treatment at the end of November. I should have transitioned years ago but didn't for one reason or another. Passing is important to me and I hope that one day I'll be able to pull it off. Do you think I have a chance?

Are you sure you haven't started hormones yet? You're pretty darn gorgeous already!

I wish I had! Thank you  :)

Thank you for your answers, I do not consider surgery at this time.
I wondered if hormones were sufficed to feminize my face that I find terribly masculine.

Harlow and Cameron are absolutely beautiful, I realize that we do not begin our transition with the same advantages you have many luck. I say this without any jealousy.

I will soon post a "good" picture of myself, but I'm not presentable at the moment because I'm going to face remove hair Tuesday.

I won't argue that you can probably pass with what you have, but to say FFS wouldn't benefit you is a wild misstatement.  You have a fairly long face, (consider so do some natal women) and long faces I'd say definitely have a harder time coming off as female, having some jaw work done with a little big of nose and chin work would definitely benefit you as it would help make your face appear visually more feminine, round.

In the end though, that's just vanity- I think you'd do okay with enough confidence.

This was my point. I'll use myself as an example, and this is my own personal opinion. Many of the people posting here have very nice feminine features, and certainly more so than I. Damn you all! lol But natal males tend to have larger noses and the brow ridge and a square jaw, but not everyone and in different degrees. Some are fortunate to lack these features. Now some natal women also have these traits to some extent. It can be very attractive up to a point. Too much and you have a manly looking woman. We have all seen them. They attract attention just because they look different. I'll notice them, and while I'm not thinking they are trans, I am thinking "that's an odd looking woman". Some natal females have large noses. It's often not very attractive. I think another difference is that a trans woman that hasn't had any FFS will often wear makeup to soften their features, while natal women often won't. So yet another tip off.

For myself I don't think I could pass as female. I have some advantages in that I'm small and not very masculine looking, but my nose in particular makes my face very male. I had a natal women call me pretty the other night, which felt good, but that doesn't mean she felt I looked like a female... Or maybe she did. Lol

So for illustrative purposes, this is me as I look everyday. I'm not trying to pass, this is my "guy mode", or as much as anyone is going to get from me. ;) I wear mostly unisex clothing, or women's clothes that I can get away with. I avoid the "man in a dress" look at all costs, and I also try not to look gay, only because i'm not (but i am as a woman, how confusing lol but I'm not trying to have guys hit on me, which happened all the time when i was younger) I'm gong to have my brows threaded this week, but I think even then and with makeup I'd be stretching the imagination a little. Lol

I'd be overjoyed if HRT changed my features enough to not need FFS. But at my age it's probably not going to do enough.  :-\ I'm vain, so I want to like my appearance, and I often don't.

If you don't want to do FFS yet, maybe try experimenting with makeup. I've seen its effects on others, it can be wonderful, or it can be barely noticeable.
No harm in trying, though.

Not sure if this was directed towards me, but I do want FFS. But I'll wait until I've been on HRT for a while (plus I can't afford it at this time :( and I haven't started hormones yet). I have worn makeup in the past, and had gotten good at it, so I'm going to start experimenting with it again.  ;D

Sorry, for some reason I thought I read that you thought you were too old for FFS. I must be hallucinating or something.
Sorry about that misconception.

Sorry about that misconception.

At my age it will also have the advantage of making me look younger (along with the HRT) because I can lift the saggy parts. :) now I just have to start saving up.

Yeah, but ya know I think everyone here has problems with the way they look, I think I'm meh.  Don't like my body, don't like my face.  I've just learned to live with it anyhoo. xD

I figure it's probably time I should post an update, just because I love feedback!

I've been on E I think about 3 months, if not very close to.

Yeah, lots of people have issues with their appearance. I'm generally happy with mine as far as being a guy.  ;) But I'm not crazy about getting older so I had to ask myself if I wasn't crazy about being a middle aged guy, am I going to like being a middle aged woman? That was my conundrum, but ultimately it is who I am and I just have to stay in good shape and deal with it. I'll never be young and cute, but I can be old and cute. I'm happy I made the decision to transition. I have to stop over analyzing everything.

That's a nice photo of you.  :)

Me too! I flipped that mirror photo around and it looks odd not reversed. The web cam on my Mac flops the images, I guess so its like looking in the mirror.

When I first started to question myself, gender included, I believed neither.
I prefer mirrors now, for technical reasons. :P

I know what you mean. My self image was always very different than what I see, which is the difficulty I'm having. But I think I can get close.  :)

More specifically, in mirrors I feel like my eyes look big and my face as a whole looks slightly more round.  When I use webcam, It usually looks incredibly long and makes my eyes appear more tilted.
