Hi. I am transsexual from Poland. I am starting my transition from first visit to doctor Robacha in October.
I am crazy in love with science in every possible way :) I study math right now. I am checking here to meet some interesting and open-minded people (I am sure they are here :) ). What is more ... hmm... I like cold places rather than warm. So Canada maybe ? ;) I look for someone to polish my french, I love french :) I will say more about myself if you write to me  >:-)

Hi Emilie,

I started a reply and my internet failed!

I'm Cindy one of the Mods and I'm in Adelaide South Australia, quite a swim to meet each other!!!

You are very welcome and there a re rules in the Announcement area, one of the organised Mods will post a link.

I'm a medical scientist and very keen on science. Math less so, Jamie D one of the other Mods is interested in math and has been running a thread called 'strange magic'

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,147739.msg1226556.html#msg1226556

So that may interest you right off!

Welcome and join on in.

As for French, I'm afraid language has never been one of my strengths!

Hugs

Hi Emilie.
So if you want to exchange in French, it will mostly have to be by personal message... :)
Otherwise, hope you find everything you are looking for here.
Warm regards.

Hi Donna,

I have not a clue what you said but I have to admit French looks a gorgeous language, it has grace in character formation.

Hi Cindy,
My little text was simply an acknowledgement of Emilie's wish to exchange a bit in French. Like her I love French, especially spoken French which to me is reallly beautiful. however I love English too and actually all the languages I have tried my hand at over the years. Our mastery of language is what allows us to communicate our thoughts, perceptions and feelings to others and is a very intrinsic part of our humanity. Actually any sort of conscious thought seems impossible to me without language but maybe I'm wrong.

What also fascinates me is how much language determines how we think and articulate our perceptions. There are many concepts that are easy to express in English like leadership and accountability which simply don't exist in French and there are concepts in French like " accueil client" which have no equivalent in English.
Asian languages like Mandarin or Japanese take you into thinking processes which are even more radically different. In Japanese for example, "I"  = Watashi wa is hardly ever used because you simply do not refer to yourself. Just imagine what this forum would be like if we put in a rule forbidding any direct reference to one's self ... :)

Bises

Hi Emilie, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 7561. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.
