After my SRS, there were some complications. Among others, my folds were partially fused & overall had poor cosmetic appearance - additionally, I also had a lot of skin tightness towards the opening of my urethra [as a side note, these complications arose from other issues NOT related directly to my SRS or to my surgeon]. In any case, as happy as I was to have finally completed SRS, the actual skin and the overall area did not feel very... comfortable.
My OB/GYN ended up prescribing me bio-identical Estrace cream and allowing me to apply the cream liberally. It was an immediate Godsend - the feelings of "tightness" alleviated, and it also immediately improved an embarrassing problem (urine getting stuck in the folds, causing a burning sensation). After about a year of using the cream, both my OB/GYN and my partner commented that the folds now look very authentic. I continue to use the Estrace cream, twice daily, and it helps just about all aspects - how I psychologically feel, the physical appearance, how it feels, issues of dryness etc, my urine stream, foreplay, orgasm...I could go on...
In any case, I much prefer post-op life with the Estrace cream than to the first year and half without it - that being said, I have nothing good to say about Premarin.
