My hair is just a beast within itself, I'm going to need someone to help me tame it as it is really wavy and it's just poofing out as it grows. I do have an anti-frizz serum that is a godsend after I shower. What kind of make up would you recommend? People always ask me if I have makeup on because my skin is really radiant. I haven't really been out in girl mode since Christmas and I'm finally getting the confidence to finally do it.

Makeup is not my forte since I don't use it myself, however I think your best bet would be to dress as you are in your avatar and visit one of the makeup kiosks at your local shopping mall and ask one of the technicians there to get you set up with the bare essentials. And make it clear that you intend to go light and not trowel a load of crap on your face. They will get you set up with shades that will work best for you're skin tones. Some of the other women here at Susan's will point you in the right direction. Remember practice makes perfect!

I actually went out with that and a skirt on to group that night and everyone was so happy that I had the confidence to go out :]

I try again. I am turning 41 next week... I am waiting to start HRT, in the meantime my hair has grown a bit.
how do I look? Usually people, at least at first sight, gender me correctly.

You have nice style. Based on your picture, I would just assume you to be a very slim woman and probably wouldn't give you a second look.

My conversion charts lied to me!  ???

No worries! I only noticed the discrepancy because I'm around 5'9" too.

Hi, to bring some clarity to this length confusion.
(I'm 188cm)
1 inch = 2.54cm
12 inches = 1 foot = 30.48cm
Which gives:
175cm = 175/2.54=68.9 inches= 5 feet 8.9 inches or 5'9"
177cm = 177/2.54=69.7 inches= 5 feet 9.7 inches or 5'10"
188cm = 188/2.54=74.0 inches= 6 feet 2.0 inches or 6'2"

And some standard sizes:
150cm = 59.0 inches = 4 feet 11.0 inches or 4'11"
160cm = 62.3 inches = 5 feet 2.3 inches or 5'2"
170cm = 66.9 inches = 5 feet 6.9 inches or 5'7"
180cm = 70.9 inches = 5 feet 10.9 inches or 5'11"
190cm = 74.8 inches = 6 feet 2.8 inches or 6'3"
200cm = 78.7 inches = 6 feet 6.7 inches or 6'7"
210cm = 82.7 inches = 6 feet 10.7 inches or 6'11"

1 foot = 30.48cm
2 feet = 60.96cm
3 feet = 91.44cm
4 feet = 121.92cm
5 feet = 152.40cm
6 feet = 182.88cm
7 feet = 213.36cm
8 feet = 243.84cm
9 feet = 274.32cm

The shortest human ever, Chandra Bahadur, is 54.6cm = 21.2 inches = 1 foot 9.2 inches or 1'9".
The tallest human ever, Robert Pershing Wadlow, was 272cm = 107.1 inches = 8 feet 11.1 inches or 8'11".

Hope this helps.

5.8 is correct. But only if we're talking 5.80 feet or 5 4/5 feet, not 5 feet 8 inches!

5.80 feet = 5'10" = 177cms.

5.80 feet = 5'10" = 177cms.
Actually that is wrong.
If there are 12 inches on a foot and she's 5'10" it means that she is 5 5/6 feet= 5.8333..., not 5 4/5=5.80.

You are correct. I presume the online converter was doing a rounding down to whole inches.

  While I may be in Canada and was taught the metric system in school, I've always stuck to Imperial units for height and weight among other things.  Sometimes it just makes for more convenient measurement divisions or a number that's more easily visualized.  I actually don't have any idea how to visualize a person based on centimetres or kilograms.  I'm more likely to take a separate measurement in metric if necessary than convert from Imperial by formula.  I really like having a dual-system tape measure or ruler because I can generate both figures at the same time.  Just get one of these tape measures and you'll rarely have to calculate conversions again.

So, I'm posting pictures of me how I look right now.

No makeup.
No tweezed eyebrows.
No women's clothing.
No HRT.
I'm 5'6
I'm 33 years old. I'll probably be around 33 1/2 when I start HRT.
No laser hair removal (that's starting very soon).
About all I've done that's noticeable is growing my hair.

What I'm trying to figure out is, like the title of the post says, will I pass as female eventually? I know the pictures don't show it, but I'm actually still quite over weight (and not muscle) at the moment (between 185/190 pounds and dropping).

And I'm not sure what else to say. Honestly I know even if I look like I'll pass there's no guarantee I will. I know no one can know for sure how effective HRT will be.  I guess I'm just wondering if I stand a chance at all. I'd like honest opinions and advice, please.

Do you know why a penis is not 30.48 cm long?

Because then it would be a foot!   >:-)
