Drove up River Road and goto New Hope today. Parked at the McDonald's parking lot where the grocery store and staples is. Walked for an hour or two, covering a lot of territory. On the outskirts of town I saw that the Cartwheel was gone. I only previously been in here, but that was 10 years ago or so.... Walked back to the McDonald's and thankfully had $1.06 leftover on my debit card for an iced coffee. I should have asked for it to be cream & sugar, but it wasn't that bitter... then I read the newspaper classifieds and put some job leads into my phone.

Found only one bar flying the Rainbow colors and it was called The Raven. When I first walked in, I saw that the men's room door said "No Girls" and the ladies said "No boys." I pondered this and asked a woman to explain. She said it had always been this way. I said it was my first time and I verified that the "no girls' was somewhat proper for me. Then she mentioned "if you're a drag queen you figure it out" but I didn't press her on questions about Trans issues on my first excursion.

The bartender gave me a cold shoulder when I asked if ice water was free. "It is a place of business" but the first cup is free. "The soup kitchen is down the road." I stayed for about forty minutes and left. Might go back when I have money again. I noticed a place offering therapy when I was in town wandering, too. As well as behavioural health groups.

Not the best first impression I could have made, but I went! :D Will have to call and ask the bathroom rules there and about ordinances of the town or county...
