Good Progress Sarah Leah !  :)

I also found myself losing pounds per week initially (5lbs the first week, 5 lbs over the next 2 weeks, 10lbs in the next 5 weeks), which then tapered off (15lbs over the next 14 weeks).  I was disappointed when the rate of weight loss dropped, but that was just impatience on my part.  There were also times when my weight would barely change for up to two weeks, even though my diet & amount of exercise were the same.  But I did reach my goal weight & then stayed close to that for over 3 months (until I visited my parents & ate mammy-cooked food for almost 3 weeks).

Yea those home cooked meals will do it to ya even if as in my case it was made for me by a friend and not my mom. My mom sometimes sends homemade chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies though, yum yum, I can't stop eating them until they are all gone, lol! ;)

After running more than 100 km during the past few weeks, today I found that my weight is exactly the same, 67 kg = 147 lbs. Sigh...

If your height is 1.84m & your weight is 67kg, then your BMI is 19.79, which is close to the lower end of the 18.5 to 25 BMI range that is considered healthy (62.6kg to 84.6kg for your height).  The midpoint of that would be 21.75 BMI (73.6kg at your height).

Perhaps you are already at what your body considers its optimum weight ?  You have already beaten the weightloss goal for every estimate of the best "healthy weight".  That means you have done really well  :)

All you now need do is maintain what you have already achieved (easier said than done for most of us).

When I weighed 147lbs (66.8kg) at 1.81m, I was very skinny.  When I entered the treatment centre after my last run (not the athletic kind), I weighed 140lbs (63.6kg) & looked like someone had been starving me for months.  Thinner is not always better.

Tessa,

You know better than me,

But, I just want a decrease of just 2 kg. At 65 kg, my waist size becomes less than 26 inch.
Yes. Admittedly I am preoccupied with my girth.
The problem is I am a big eater,  irresistible to appetite.

New to the forum and check my weight regularly

I'm 5'10"  and weight 156 lbs . Others say I am thin and yet I look in the mirror and think I can probably lose a bit in the waist area.

Tessa,

You know better than me,
I'm not so sure about that  -  I'm still only learning about these things.  I have been doing a lot of Internet searches recently (although, being a numbers geek, I have naturally collated my findings into a spreadsheet so I can try to make sense of all the formulae out there).

I can understand that (only too well).  I miss having a waist I could easily pull in & hold at 24" ... (that was aeons ago - back when I was in my 20s).  (As I type this I wonder how on earth I was able to hide being trans from myself until last year  :-\ )

Oh.  You have me here.  I shot up a few pounds yesterday after convincing myself on Saturday that since vegetables weren't fattening, that meant I could eat a larger plateful.  Well, perhaps if there hadn't been quite so many buttered garlic mashed potatoes on the plate, and if it had only been the one plateful, then maybe I mightn't have gained quite so much weight :embarrassed: ...  oops.

I am going to be so glad when I get the all clear from my doc to wear my leg weights again.  My walks are just too easy without them.  Soccer & drinking injuries make running impractical for me (it took a skilled physio several months to fix up my knees enough for me to be able to cycle without pain - a very skilled physio: I had been told that I would need surgery if I ever wanted that pain to go away).

I have found that I get tempted to push too hard if I don't have a little something to restrain me when I drive myself a little crazy (a very short drive in my case).  For weight loss, my stopping point has been whatever weight I am when I can look down & see my belt buckle without my belly getting in the way.  I had to make it something that was not tied to a specific number - I am too good at manipulating numbers to my own ends.  It helps that I have a wife who is not shy about letting me know when I have become slightly crazier than usual.

Do try to keep in mind the numbers I gave you.  Whatever stopping point we may have, I'm guessing it should probably not be lower (or higher) than all of the various "healthy weight" charts.
(62.6kg for 18.5 BMI @ 1.84m was a bit lower than the minimum for any other method of calculating "healthy weight" that I could find, ie: Robinson (63.1kg); Miller (63.0kg); Devine (66.7kg); Hamwi (66.4kg).)

Be well   :)

It's finally a little warmer outside so I'm definately going to get outside for a while this afternoon and get some physical activity in doing something, lol. I feel fat just sitting around the house, I'm restless. I just ate lunch, 1/2 oz salmon and cheese. Gotta go work that off at least. ;)

LOL ... I am waiting for evening before my walk so that all the snowmelt has a chance to freeze.  Granted, my main motivation for waiting would be the holes in my boots ... :eusa_doh:

Well, I didn't get to go outside however I did get some housework done that required a little lifting so that counts some. Still feel fat though so I gotta get outside and do something tomorrow before the next cold front comes through tomorrow night. ;)

1/17/2014 - 165.2

Grr... I need those numbers to go down, not climb...  >:(

Ladies please! You're stressing me out with these big weights. Cracking the weight-loss code isn't rocket science. Read my post in the "Nutrition" section. In sum: Human Beings are hunters and meat eaters by nature (our eyes are forward like a cat or a wolf). This means that red meat, eggs (raw or near raw), butter, raw milk, high-quality coffee, veggies, fresh in-season fruit and clean water are on the menu. Sugar, sugary snacks and drinks, alcohol of any kind, juicing, retail milk, ALL GRAIN and THINGS MADE FROM GRAIN and anything wrapped in a retail package are off the menu. Beware GMOs .. don't eat them. Search "Diabetes Warrior" and follow his advice. If you're eating chocolate and pizza you are most likely pre-diabetic if not a full blown-out diabetic.

Google how wrestlers cut weight. Wrestlers who stay on natural (read protein) diets have little trouble maintaining and dropping weight. Sandwich and spaghetti eating athletes are always worried about weight.

Cut your portions down, eat a small piece of steak with veggies daily. If you get hungry drink water first. Sometimes you're not really hungry, just thirsty. One small meal a day. Snack on fresh fruit in the morning. Crack a fresh, free range, egg and eat the yoke for fats and B-12 when you get hungry.

Stay sexy,

Danielle

You have really pretty legs, you know that? Not exactly topic related, but I hope it makes you feel a bit better after the disappointing scale numbers, at least.

awwww shucks *blushes* a friend of mine told me the same thing. I don't see it. but people also tell me I'm skinny and I don't see that either.  :) But, thank you!

Joan

Well, Friday has come around again where I am so I'll get the ball rolling on this week's changes. And the big news this week is...

...no real change. I started at 82.7kg on the 27/12
I was 83.0kg on 24/1
And I'm 83.0kg on 31/1  :(

I've been losing weight constantly since March last year, altogether 12kg.

I'm still doing the same exercise every week (50miles or so cycling to and from work), same diet too.

The only difference is that I started HRT in January. They weren't wrong when they said it's difficult to lose weight once the hormones start  :-\
