Welcome to Susan's Tiffany great to see you here.
You will have a good list of all us in OZ which might be helpful

I know that there are a few more here who have not thrown their Bra or speedos in to be counted yet.

How many times did you count Cindy? She's worth at least 10 for SA.

Kia Ora Jenny,

Cindy's a pommy spy ;) ;D

I'm a double triple agent

OK... the tally so far...

  • New South Wales - 7 (5 in Sydney)
  • South Australia - 4 (all in or around Adelaide)
  • Victoria - 3 (2 in Melbourne)
  • Tasmania - 1
  • Western Australia - 1
  • ACT/Canberra - 1
  • New Zealand/Kiwi cousins - 2

Cool!

Wow! Considering NSW and Sydney are... four? times bigger than SA and Adelaide, SA is really batting above the average!
At risk of restarting the last topic about Adelaide, maybe there really IS something in the water. Maybe we're/they're just vocal :)

Qld and NT need some representation!

I'm assuming that this is Australian slang for the British? What's the common slang term for Canadians? Also, and pardon if this is an embarrassing question to ask, how do Australian generally perceive the Canadian accent and dialect? Always curious.

My wife has been here 23 years, her friends in Vancouver thinks she speaks with an Australian accent, a lot of people here think she is from Ireland :icon_confused:

Lot's of canucks here, their accents imho tends to be much softer than the US and I won't even mention 'hey'.  :)

I was born in Adelaide, does that count? My parents moved to Canberra when I was 5. Most people my age living in Canberra came from interstate as most of the Government departments were relocated here in the fifties and sixties.

I must admit I still regard myself as South Australian and my mother who hasn't lived in Western Australia for 72 years still regards herself as one!

It seems that many of us here in Adelaide are imports - I'm a Melburnian by birth, Cyndi is a Pom.. And I know of a few other imports here..

Kia Ora Gwynne,

Oz has got the spiders, snakes (80% 0f the world's deadliest snakes are found there), droughts, flies, not to mention around 20 million bloody Aussies too (including the 'born again ones' like Cindy)  ;) ;D...

Where as NZ's clean green, no snakes, the odd poisonous spider, beautiful scenery ( did you see Lord Of The Rings ?) oh and did I mention we do have a few earthquakes, but don't let a little shaking put you off...
