I planning to go full time this summer because I think or hope the hormones will have worked enough, I'm planning on blouses and skirts mostly and jeans. I going for the slightly conservative look. Just interested how every one else approaches style.

I try to dress my age/lifestyle. So I stick to mostly printed t's and jeans, I wear skirts and long dress's occasionally. Skirts, a dress top and shawl sometimes with flats when trying to look professional.

I wear cute open necked form-fitting tops with skinny jeans. Some have holes; some don't. My fave pair of skinnies is a light purple denim  with knee holes. They are more capri than skinny jean but I'd call them a hybrid. I wear keds and ballet flats plus carry a duffle. (A large canvas purse).

Lately i've been accessorizing and building my wardrobe more. I have this gray faded romper that I just got the last thing I need for: a cute, lightweight leather jacket. I also got this LBD with a cute print and a plunging neckline that I hope to rock. I can't wait for warmer weather. I have this men's pea coat and I get sir'd a lot and then  I look at them and they profusely apologize. AWKWARD. I'm conviced it's the coat and my guy wants to buy me a new one. he says it's def the reason.

I try to dress my age but I don't want to look a mess, so it's cardigans and full, pleated or A line knee length skirts, sometimes tailored jackets, but definitely conservative stuff.

I bought some skinny jeans last weekend, but I'm not sure I have the courage to wear them out :D

Stephanie, it occurred to me that if you went back over these very interesting threads that you put up and and statistically analyzed each member's responses to your questions you'd probably have enough material for a couple of solid research papers on attitudes and preferences of transgendered individuals :D

I dress very boring and very bland. It's cheaper that way. Plain tops in darker, solid colors (except for the shirts with Dotty and Portia on them), jeans, sneakers.

I'm a 6'1" girl.  Where on this planet would I actually blend in?

I try to dress in such a way that I own the look.  The look is me.  That can be jeans and a sweater, it can be woman's business attire or even a formal dress.  But owning the look is the key.

Really takes time to shop though....

Hugs,

Jen
To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

Love this question! At this point it's to burn "the guy" down.

Danielle is pissed. "The guy" stuck her in a dark closet for thirty years and basically ruined her life .. and she's coming out with a vengeance! It's been about two months since she's gotten out of the closet and she's put the world on notice. Within a time-span of only two months I've come out to my family, lost 35 lbs, grew my hair passed the tops of my ears (blown out girlie-style everyday  ), women's underwear, stockings, mascara and pink lipstick everyday. Danielle has nearly completely killed "the guy". I say nearly because I think she's planning just a little torturer for "the guy" (Thailand-style) just before she buries him.

I have a very small wardrobe. As of right now I mixed both my guy clothes and my girl clothes. Granted the guy close I have could be considered androgynous. I am really looking forward to summer. At work I plan on wearing mostly Capri pants. Outside of work I hope I can wear short leggings and a skirt and some kind of cute shirt. :-) anything that's nice, that covers my knees. Ha ha
I love being me!  :) ;) :D

I'm a wee bit too old to go for setting things on fire, although my inner teenager still relishes the very short skirt that's packed away somewhere

I go for what I like to think of as classy casual - the kinds of clothes that a woman my age with a youthful attitude might wear. I can get away with wearing skinny jeans, and I pair that with some kind of nice top or sweater, and heels or wedges, or boots if the weather is yucky. Some days I might put on some earrings but most days I don't bother. I don't want to stand out, but if someone notices me I want to be dressed tastefully. I prefer 1/2 or 3/4 length sleeves to help disguise my shoulders.

I wore a above the knee skirt out once and it gave me the willies for some reason. I haven't had the courage to try that again.

Dresses are usually a no go because of my upper body build. If I get them large enough to fit up top they are too big on the bottom.

oh hai!

Until I don't have a tucking issue any longer, I dress age-appropriately and rather modestly. I likely won't become racier after surgery - just wear nicer and more form-fitting attire.

I do dream of a nice one-piece beach/swimming suit though. And the goods to deliver in them  ;)

What do you mean?

For me, once I started going out in public, I basically purged my entire wardrobe of collected crap and set about building something to be proud of. Some of the stuff I had was just plain stupid. I don't dress to stand out, but I do try to follow fashion trends. Right now every girl I see us wearing black leggings, tunic tops and boots. It's like the uniform or something. So I wear those kinds if clothes. I stick with jeans though. I mostly stick with Anthropology, Free People, Lucky and a lot if that boho chic type stuff. But that's what the girls I admire are wearing. I guess that means I'm trying to blend in for where I am. I would never wear a mini leather skirt with a halter and 6 inch heals. But hey, whatever works for you.

So I guess I just try to blend in with what I consider to be the contemporary fashionable girls my age.

Tiffany I was just saying lately I have noticed blending in with these wealthy people means dressing like them which is normally county club attire

Whatever I wear, I become noticeable.  Based on my height and body shape alone, all of my acquaintances recognize me very well while I run outdoors wearing sunglasses, hat and mask. Even one of my former colleagues, who happened to be at Frankfurt airport, recognized and called me from the back. There were so many tall girls and all kinds of ethnic groups and body shapes in the airport.  We did not know or expect that each other is traveling abroad.

I prefer juniors' style, although my biological age is far greater.
The following skirt is my favorite fashion item, and I am wearing it right now, although it's winter.
