More like two years, not six months.
No-one who has been referred to CHX since 1 April 2013 for a first GIC appointment (i.e. never been to  a GIC before in their life, is not a mental in-patient and does not hold a GRC) has yet had that first appointment.

If you want to be seen in less than six months you need to ask your GP to write a regional GIC (of your choice, you get to choose) asking them to take you as a patient. You do not need to cancel your referral to CHX to get a referral to a regional GIC also. For a list of regional GICs See page 24 of this document http://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/int-gend-proto.pdf
The only way to find out the estimated waiting time for a particular GIC of interest is to contact directly and ask. There is no central source of information.
By all means call CHX and ask (you should). The answer will most likely be "We can't say but it won't be anytime soon, things are changing"). When you do have the answer from CHX please report back here, others will be interested.

2 years!:0 and why have they sent me to London I've heard there are different ones i could have gone to is it just people who have mental disorders they send there or is it just because its the closest one to me if so I'm gonna bring it up and change to a different one I'm can't be waiting 2 years when i could go private but its a lot of money :( thanks for the reply and yes i will let you know what happens

Go privately through GenderCare. It's the private practice of Dr Seal and Dr Lorimer who both practice at the GIC in Charing X. It's not cheap, but a friend of mine was able to be on hormones a heck of a lot faster via these guys. To speed things up for yourself, try and get as much as possible done before your first visit. Try and present in feminine attire and if you can get a name change done as well, i'm sure you'll be fast-tracked to HRT and RLE.

how much would that cost me for everything I'm not to educated when it comes to private health care :) and i have tried doing as much as i can when it comes to feminising myself and being in the opposite gender to the point where i feel comfortable being around people if i go outside my comfort zone it only when I'm out in town i get really nervous and worried what people are thinking some people keep looking at me with this weird look as to say wtf is up with that child so not really good for my confidence but when I'm out with my mates around my area i feel fine because its mostly my friends and my families friends that live in this area but people laughing is starting to really tick me off  :embarrassed:

They haven't sent you to London. You must have chosen it or said you don't care which GIC.
Since 1 August 2013 the patient gets to choose the GIC. Read all of that document I linked to for you, read it carefully.
Call the others, I hear Sheffield is seeing people almost immediately, but that is only hearsay and can change quickly, may already have changed.
Leeds has a fast track programme for people long since informally transitioned.
Call around and compare, it's the only sane thing to do. Be sure to follow up any phone conversation of interest with a letter. Just confirming, for the record, what you heard -- in case that was not what was said :-)

Just don't even mention the old referral to the GP and it won't be cancelled until you cancel it yourself. You can hold two referrals open (CHX + 1 other) and decide later which one you have settled on.

Oh, and if you are working on voice, try the amazingly inexpensive book "You just don't understand. Men and women in conversation" ISBN 0060959622.
It is not a workbook, so a used copy is fine as long as it isn't in disgusting condition.

Also try this VERY simple tip - try to smile at the same time as you speak. I know that sounds weird to impossible, just try it at no cost and be amazed.
