I really want to transit to female, but I have to deal with my hairline first.

I'm going through the same problem.

It's the most terrible feeling, people who don't know my secret tell me, to 'accept my baldness', 'bald men are attractive', but they don't really know how much it hurts for me. I can't tell them why I'm so desperate to fight baldness, they don't know.

I don't know how bad your baldness is, but mine, is not so bad, I still have a head full of hair, just thinning. If i grow it long, it's not noticeable at all.

I am getting help, It seems to be working, my hair fall has reduced drastically, and It might grow back, but I have to be patient. You should seek out help too. They got a lot of tests done on me before they figured out the reason for my hair loss. I don't even have half as much hair as I did just a few years ago....

I'm telling you, I did the right thing by seeking help, at least my hair fall has stopped, you should too, if it's possible.

Most doctors say finasteride and minoxidil are the only effective way to treat male pattern hair loss.

But these treatments are not very effective for forehead area, So I plan to have the hairline transplantation operation.

The finasteride is a kind of anti androgen.
So will other anti androgen be effective for hair loss, such as aldactone and cyproterone acetate? The doctors don't know my gender problem. I didn't ask this question.

Exact same thing is happening to me.  Hairline receding and thinning in the back.  It's an aweful situation to be in, but apparently hair transplantation is very effective.  I know it's usually not a permanent solution, because the hair that hasn't fallen out at the time of the precedure will eventually.  Of course, with the transitioning comes the hormones, which for all intents and purposes stops the balding.  I had the same concern the other day and upon the advice I recieved and some research, was able to conclude that after the hormones, I should be fine with the initial transplant.  Everything will be fine.  If you need to talk, I should be able to pm soon.

I'm using both, they seem to have stopped my hair fall considerably. I have to wait a few months before they grow back (if they do)

Same thing here, they don't know my gender problem either,

but I suggest you don't try anything yourself, you could ask your doctor about the other anti androgens, he'll answer your questions.

This is by far the #1 dysphoria trigger for me. My hair started thinning/receding when I was 17, and I am fairly certain could only be resolved with transplant surgery at this point.

I use those but am probably too far gone. If all else is lost (no pun intended) a good wig helps.

It's pretty awful alright, I think, especially for transgender people. 

yes it is.  The fact that it's called "male" pattern baldness is insult to injury.  It's pretty disheartening, especially if I dwell on it.

If you're already on HRT and your T is low then there's probably no point using Finasteride. That's what my endo told me anyway. My HRT keeps my T very low, I have some regrowth with minoxidil and HRT but it may not be fully realised, if ever, for a number of years. Until I know for sure a wig is the only way to go.

Ms Grace, do you feel satisfied wearing a wig? I have to admit this is one of my biggest worries. I haven't yet tried any wigs yet but you look so lovely, If I managed to look half as natural as you do I think I might be okay.

True. If you are on HRT the thinning of the hair will stop and will most likely grow back (if it's not completely gone). An alternative to wig if you still have thin hair (because of starting to lose hair) you can use some kind of powder to cover it up. For me it helped alot.

I am on HRT, but the receding of the hairline doesn't stop.
My hair in my forehead area is very thin.
I can't make my hair beautiful as a woman.
I grow my hair long enough, and make bangs cover my forehead.
But the hair looks dully.

I'm a bald trans-person, unfortunately I had some hairline recession at 17 so I was over it and shaved it all, best thing I've ever done.

People in general are often extremely intimidated by the beauty and sophistication levels of having strong features and a bald head.

Weirdly I get an insane level respect from heterosexual men, as bald than with a wig.

I don't enjoy wigs at all, I look less sophisticated and beautiful with hair - no matter how realistic or expensive.
